May 31, 2008 I’ve been homebrewing for a few months now and have gotten all of my supplies from Jess at Alt Bev. Jess, as well as the rest of his staff that I’ve dealt with have been very helpful. Extract kits have produced solid results and selection is pretty varied. The biggest negative is the new location in Belmont, so think about stocking up when you go. |

October 9, 2006 This is a decent homebrew store, but not overly impressive. I just picked up some kegging parts and asked a few questions. The answers to my questions were still a little vague and unanswered. Decent at best. |

August 15, 2006 Kits are great! Good service and knowledgeable staff. No beer here, just homebrew and wine supplies, but it is a good selection. |

August 14, 2006 I’ve made a couple of online orders for brew hardware and software from Alternative Beverage. The service has been very timely. They’ve answered my email questions same day. They have been very helpful and knowledgeable. Pretty good selection. Far better than what I can get locally. |

July 1, 2006 An outstanding homebrew shop. Now that they’ve combined forces with Homebrew Adventures (homebrew.com), they’ve got the best in retail as well as online shopping. Jess’s staff is generally knowledgeable but it varies person by person. Jess himself has been involved with homebrewing since the 1970s when Carter legalized it. He is not only an expert but also open to new ideas from his customers. His kits are mostly outstanding! |

April 8, 2006 I have been shopping here, first locallly, now online, for about 15 years. The service is simply outstanding. When I messed up a batch, I called the advice line and not only got good advice but the owner also sent me a replacement package of ingredients. |
