Now called Moondogs in the charlotte area. I will lump all three locations into this one. Always fun here and the beer selection is always great. everything from Foothills to oak aged yeti to boon kriek and beyond can be had here. chances are if it is available to the area it will be here. the owner is a big beer guy so he loves to chat it up and wants to know what people are looking for.

The Charlotte Mellow mushrooms have recently chnaged names. They are now called Moon Dog. Not much has changed. As others have said they have a good beer selection, bartenders and pizza. The taps change constently. The beer menu is hopelessly out of date. I find itis best to sit in front of the cooler and look for unfamilar Beers. The bartenders are always happy to pull them out for you to look at.
I met the owner one night and he preceded to pull out several beers for me to try. What more could you ask for? More bar space. It always feels a bit crowded.
Overall this is a great place to drink good beer (with a Belgian bias) and meet other people who love good beer.

Another great Mellow. Had the biggest selection that i have seen at a mellow. Great stop!

Had lunch with Ross on a recent trip to Charlotte. Sat at the bar, and the barmaid was friendly, helpful, and knew about the beers. 50 plus beers on tap, and the selction was good, as good or better than Tyler’s in Durham. Impressive selection of bottles as well, and many at good prices. Bought a bottel of Alagash Interlude for $15.00 "to go." Pretty impressive. Had pizza, whcih was good, but I don’t know about the rest of their food. Nice place and worth a visit if you’re in the city.

Met up with Chad (harlequinn) here. Place was nice, the bar was where we sat. Bar was loud, but the bartender was awesome. Knew what he was talking about. This place has alot of beer on tap. I would list some offerings, but the guy says the menu changes so much they have to update it almost daily. There was about 100-150 bottles in the place including des rocs grand cru, brune, blonde, Allagash Musette, 11th, Tripel, etc etc etc. Food is typical mellow mushroom food, if you order something other than the pizza you might be crazy i think?? Came home to find out this bartender was written up in the paper for being a good one. He was really friendly, talked with everyone there, and was quick to make sure your beer did not go without being refilled. Hopefully Ill start going here, as its about the best selection I can find on tap close to me.
