3 reviews for James Joyce Pub
| JCB (37), Durham, North Carolina | | June 16, 2009 Haven’t been to the Joyce in several years, and was pretty much reminded why this evening. While the confines are cozy and warm, in a kind of retrofit nostalgia way, the rest of the joint doesn’t compel return visits. Beer selection was looking up at average, as was the food. The service was meh, and the place soon became overrun by Dook students hungry for trivia night. Great. | | Magjayran (22), Durham, North Carolina | | July 5, 2006 Irish pub owned by Irish people. Pretty generic offering of beers that you would expect to see in an Irish pub plus Sierra Nevada and maybe a local microbrew. Crowd can be sort of frat boy like and the music playing varies from Irish folk to complete shit like O.A.R. I’d go to the place next door (Federal) instead. | | GeneralGao (220), Iowa City, Iowa | | January 9, 2006 [ Updated April 18, 2006 ] Best Irish pub in Durham. 15ish draught beers which are all imports and micros. Staff are excellent. Food is decent pub fare. The burgers are the best that I’ve had in Durham. Smoky, bu they play a lot of soccer games, which is a plus. |
