Generally a staple for NCSU grad students and faculty. A great place to eat lunch and have an after work beer. Their selection used to be quite limited, but now includes some local micros on draft and a small micro bottled selection. I know the day manager/bartender, and Mitch (although I am sure he doesn’t know me) . This is a great place to take friends to have a couple of beers and chat.

I can’t believe nobody had posted this earlier. Mitch’s was featured most famously in the movie “Bull Durham,” and has been a Raleigh landmark for God knows how long. Beer selection is a bit limited, but food selection is great. Great place for a beer lover to grab dinner. The ambiance is a highlight; smoky, dark, and cozy. You can tell Mitch’s has been there forever.
