| Veeve (22), Winston-Salem, North Carolina | | June 14, 2008 A. We loved our waiter. Try to help us with the tv trivia even though he stunk at it. Came at our table just the right amount. gave us beer recs which were educated. However, he kept trying to take our french fries away and we weren’t done, despite the fact we sat there forever.
B. Lots and Lots of beers on tap. hundreds. all different kinds.
C. Good crowd early 20 to late 30 somethings on a Friday night. Sports, good food, trivia. nice, relaxed atmosphere and outdoor seating. | | OldGrowth (104), Cary, North Carolina | | March 10, 2008 located in the Cameroon Village shopping area. Near the NC State campus. Just after the lunch rush on a Monday afternoon. Place is divided between bar & restaurant, both about the same size . Dining room on right, bar on left. I didn’t go into the restaurant side Bar has about 20 or so seats, then 6 large U shaped booths, then in a seperate aisle, some various size tables. Lots of beer and sports, NC State & Hurricanes mainly, paraphanalia on walls.8 TV’s over bar with two more in each back corner of bar area. Bartender was ok, didn’t really go out his way to engage me, but I wasn’t chatty either. Beer and food came promptly though. Fair amount of NC micro’s Highland, Duck Rabbit, Foothills, Carolina Brewing, Carolina Beer Co. Big Boss, Triangle. Mostly the mainstays from these breweries, I had the Highland Gaelic & Big Boss Bad Penny. Other larger distributed micros, Sam Adams, Sierra Nevada etc. Usual larger distributed Euro’s. Bass, Smithwicks etc. Food selection should have something for everyone. I had a burger that was good, not great, bbq sauce, bacon and cheddar. Lame piece of cheddar at that. I substituted onion rings and would say don’t bother with them, heavy on the batter bit greasy. Bar side allows smoking, I think other side is smoke free. 16 or so tables available outside also. I dunno, to me, it’s a good place, but comes up a little short to be great. | | jehoey (21), Shippensburg, Pennsylvania | | October 14, 2007 Big bar/restaurant, with some music playing in the backround and some TVs but the inside also had a nice feel with lots of wood and low lighting. Service is very attentive. Selection was better than average, with plenty of local offerings, east coast micros, and others, along with some belgians on tap. Food is probably a liltter over priced, but the burgars are pretty darn good. pretty good. | erock1 (5), Cary, North Carolina does not count - explanation | | November 10, 2006 Love this place. Have been numerous times. Beer selections is great. Probably have 25 beers on tap and some bottles as well. Lots of excellent televisions for the sports fan. The burgers are incredible. Ask for Dave....tell him Strom sent you. | FistFullOfCats (8), Raleigh, North Carolina does not count - explanation | | November 4, 2005 Good local beers, and quite a few on tap. Food ranges from good to ok, but really needs to be a dollar or two cheaper across the board. Feels like a sports bar with a little more personality. Service was very attentive. | | wilkie (36), Raleigh, North Carolina | | April 1, 2004 Friendly and courtious staff. Bartenders are generally knowledgeable about beer. Food is excellent. Good local beers, and a decent selection otherwise. Be careful, if you go there when NCSU is playing an away game, it is apt to be very crowded. Prices are not extremely expensive but not cheap either--which tends to keep the frat crowd out. |
