November 8, 2009 Decent, small pub on one of the main tourist streets in York. I think it’s owned by the local York brewery so no surprises the majority of the beers are from York brewery’s output (no bad thing). The only odd thing is this place seems to have been very very quiet on the 3/4 times I’ve been in, not sure why apart from the fact there’s no shortage of pubs in York. |

September 2, 2007 Up to 9 cask ales. A small York brewing co. bottle shop is integrated to the bar. You may want to check the whole street out as 2 other stores seemed to have a decent selection (maybe 100 bottles) of English ales including the ones from York brewing. A small and cozy pub with natural lightingfrom a light well. A must visit I would say, many locals and laughing crowd. |

July 10, 2007 Almost as much fun as the Three Legged Mare - the principal difference being the names. Certainly worth a visit - especially if you can’t get to one of the other York Brewery venues. |

December 12, 2006 [ Updated June 9, 2007 ] The most recent of York Brewery’s pubs. And like the other two, not originally a pub, but this is a pretty successful conversion. The entrance is tucked down an alleyway behind York Brewery’s shop front onto the street. About 8 handpumps including three or four from York Brewery and a Castle Rock beer or two. The three York Brewery pubs don’t carry the same beers so its worth visiting all three. Food available at lunchtime. There’s a no smoking room upstairs and disabled access via a stairlift. Worth a visit. |
