Everything bad that people say about this place is pretty much true. The bartender was a bit rude. The beers are dated, at best. The selection is mediocre. The ambiance is OK. The food, I didn’t have. The value was mediocre considering the nature of the product.

Oslo’s first microbrewery and once one of the best places in the city for beer. Lots of things have changed in Oslo since my first visit here some 10-15 years ago, but not much have changed here. Most of the beers are the same and the interior too. The beers are still quite decent, but not the most exciting ones. Mostly classical Britis beer types. Interior is also quite like in a British pub. Always nice to visit, but not a must anymore.

Old fashioned place near the shopping center of Oslo. Very quiet at a Thursday evening, only few other people. Service is ok, but the beers lack quality. All my tasters were slightly infected (badly cleaned piping?). Interior is somewhat passé and there is no real athmosphere. Ok if you are around, but not worth a detour.

It’s worth visiting this place for sake of completeness, and because it has such a long history in Oslo. The beers are OK and the service is fine.

The oldest microbrewery in Oslo. Very nice tasting beers, different styles.6 different beers on tap, with seasonal changes. Offers sampling set of 5 half pints ( so exclude one tap by your own choice)

A classic beer place. Been around forever i think. But still, it seems like it’s coming into a ancient place. Seems like they forgot tho follow up on the beer revolution the last 10 years. They usually have 5-7 different brews on tap. The steamer, oslo pils, porter and stout have been around since the opening. Some seasonals too. The location is nice, so i guess they don’t have to be all that inovative to survive

Check out my comment on Mikrobryggeriet Trondheim. I feel like the water used for brewing here isn’t that good, even though I would probably fail that statement hard in a blind test. Something isn’t the same as in Trondheim at least. A bit to packed during weekends as well, not that much room.

Nice semi modern place. A good selection of their own brews. Worth a visit.
