| berkshirejohn (79), Bracknell, England | | July 29, 2008 I’m not entirely sure this is a brewpub anymore, there wasn’t much sign of life in the brewery upstairs. At least there was a house beer though. Service and choise was fine, a nice looking place in an area of smart canalside bars. When I was there the clientele was rather downmarket though. | | Rastacouere (475), Montréal, Quebec | | August 21, 2007 Well, this is a brewpub in Nottingham, less than 10 minutes away from the train station by foot and on the way to the castle, so you should definitely stop by to try the housebrews. Besides them, you can expect to find a minimal bottle selection and perhaps 5 real ales. Not a place I’d spend several hours in, but a worthy stop with good service. The flat-screens have perhaps ruined the oldish impression a bit though. | | DJMonarch (83), Northwich, England | | August 10, 2007 haddonsman kindly introduced me to this brewpub on a grand tour of Nottingham on a Winter’s day towards the end of last year.
Very relaxed and spacious interior but there was also an area outside by the canal which looked pretty picturesque, not sure if there’s a beer garden but it would be a nice location to enjoy a pint or two on a Summer’s day. I liked the local brews and this is a pub that’s handy for the station and the Olde Trip if you’re heading there. | | haddonsman (56), Derby, England | | February 28, 2007 Oldest brewpub in the city, down by the canal. Two house beers brewed on site, another is kick-started by the Nottingham Brewery for them. Sky Sports on all day (sound turned down outside of major events), decent cafe-bar style food, on the popular canal pub circuit but close to other real ale pubs. Couple of minutes walk from the railway station and several other good ale pubs. |
