| cking (24), North Canton, Ohio | | June 7, 2007 I recommended a visit here but only if you are in the area or plan on stopping by the Mustard Seed Market as well. Not worth a special trip for this store only. Good selection relying more on solid quality and not quantity, your choices are limited and most of the imports aren’t worth a look but there is a nice selection of bombers and American Craft sixers. Cool store can easily kill time by looking around. The employees are always willing to help but they generally aren’t up to par on beer knowledge. The bombers are priced right but the sixers are all about $1 more than everywhere else, and the singles are very pricy at almost $2 per bottle regardless of the beer | | f351c4v (50), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | April 23, 2006 Odd store, mostly home furnishings, but there is a beer/wine/food section in the back. Lots of micros to mix and match, mostly $1.75 a bottle. A couple of Belgians, Orval being the highlight. Worth a stop if you’re in the Fairlawn area, just don’t expect uncovering anything earthshattering. | | Dogbrick (188), Columbus, Ohio | | April 21, 2004 This World market is similar to any other one I have been to. It is in the Fairlawn area of Akron. It is in the Market Square plaza, and there is plenty of parking. It is also near Mustard Seed Market, Acme, Thirsty Dog and Winking Lizard so a person could have a full afternoon of beer bliss in this area.
World Market is a great store. It is like Pier 1 but with alcohol. They have a selection of wines and beers from all over the world. The best thing is their &quo;beer endcap&quo;, which allows to to mix and match single bottles from pretty much any of the 6-packs they carry. What a wonderful way to sample beers!
You can also find some Belgian brews like Corsendonk in larger bottles. Regionals like Great Lakes are usually in stock as well. All in all, this is a one-stop place to try 50+ beers without having to buy more than one bottle at a time. While you’re there, you can get a chair from Japan and some placemats from India.
The service here is decent. You can usually find someone in the beer/wine section of the store who knows what they are talking about. |
