***I notice it say’s "Out of business" but really it’s now "Buckeye Beer Engine"*** This place is the best!!! I can only describe the look and feel as "working man’s upscale" the food is real good and the beer....oh the beer. 4 or 5 of their own taps plus 4-5 taps each of a few other micros. Prices are listed straight out for both glasses (pints or snifters) and samples. Local tip...after ordering a beer ask for a "taste" of 1 or 2 others, you’ll usually get ’em free.

27 beers on tap. 4 buckeye’s. Massive bottle list. Huge horse shoe bar and beer bottle lights. Nifty copper 3 tiered beer serving rack. Friendly staff, old town feel.

A great place to drink beer. The girls behind the bar are knowledgeable and friendly, and the beer selection and quality are great. Never ate here becuase it is too close to Joe’s Deli in Rocky River. A must if you are in the Cleveland Area even if it is in the Western suburbs.

(Visited 09/2006): Brew Keeper, which used to be a joint venture with Buckeye Brewing Co, is apparently a separate entity now. The establishment is located not too far off I-271 and is pretty easy to spot. There is a small front parking lot. Inside there is a small room devoted to homebrew supplies, then a door leads into the warehouse/bar area. It’s kind of dark and industrial-looking. The bar is along the left side, and a wall full of homebrew stickers adorns the right. The beer selection includes around 12 taps with Brew Keeper and Buckeye (for how long, it remains to be seen) along with some other selections like Summit and Barrelhouse. The bottled selection is pretty limited, with only around 5 available. Samples are available upon request. The service here is pretty good. We got kind of a cold response upon asking about the disappearance of the Buckeye name from the building. However I was treated to a free beer for my birthday so who can complain? Food here is not really an option outside of cashews and chips. Overall I was pretty disappointed that Buckeye is evidently moving elsewhere. However the beers presented by Brew Keeper hold their own and are worth trying again.

These guys are great and really know there beer. Cask pulls and 26 different beers on tap. Most of these are by manufacturers the average beer drinker wouldn’t know. Bell’s, Jolly Pumpkin, Franziskaner, Left Hand, etc. Love this place and Jason and Dawn rock!

Great Beer! Simple as that and it is only going to get better at his new digs. I wish he would move to Akron, but it will be up on the lake in Lakewood and judging by his new website and audio of his plans for "The Beer Engine" it will be Lakewood’s new gem. Garin is a very good guy and i wish him all the luck and for him to keep doing what he’s doing! Lakewood residence should count their blessings having Garin move into town as well as having GLBC 10-15 minutes away! Bastards!!!!

I’m going to miss Buckeye Brewing on miles. The atmosphere was cool, kind of like hanging out in a friend’s basement. Garin is “the man” he brews awesome beers plus he is a really cool dude. I was not that impressed with the Brew Keeper beers that were on tap after Garin sold the business last spring (brewkeeper closed the Miles road location on Jan.12th). Both had a good line up of guest beers and I’m really going to miss having such a great brew pub on the east side. Garin will be opening a new production brewery soon so, the Buckeye bombers should be more plentiful. Rumor has it that Garin is planning a brewpub in Lakewood- Good news for west siders but us east siders are pouring our 40’s on the curb now, giving some love to Buckeye!

The owner at this location is no longer Buckeye Brewing according to the new owner that I spoke with on a recent visit. As I understand it, Buckeye is building a new production oriented brewery elsewhere in town. The new establishment is called The Brewkeeper. My brother was a frequent visitor when it was operated by Buckeye, and he indicated that little, if anything had changed. Brewkeeper brews their own beers, and had 5 or 6 on tap. Additionally, they still have a close relationship with Buckeye, and had several fo their offerings as "guest brews." They had several other taps, imports and domestics. This is primarily a small pub brewery with a "Brew on Premises" facility that is very nicley equipped. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. No food, just beer in a rather quirky atmosphere, but well worth a visit if all you’re interested in is beer. For locals, it would be an excellent way to spend an afternoon brewing your own beer, and enjoying the offerings on draft. If you’re hungry, the Winking Lizard, which has a decent selction of beers and great wings, is right next door.

This is one of our favorite after work stops. The Buckeye Beers are usually on tap. They are readily available in most beer retailers around here, and are pretty good. The place has the feel of a converted garage, no fancy. They also rotate a good selection of non-buckeye beers through their on-tap offerings. I know I have had Old-Rasputin, and a couple lambics. Great place.

Overall Buckeye is just about the beer which with them is not a bad thing. They have a great selesction of taps from buckeye but Delerium when i was there. I hade arrogant bastard on tap there and then my favorite martian marzen. Well worth a try sometime.
