Baba Budan’s is on McMillan at the end of Clifton near the UC campus. Billed as a ’bar and coffee house,’ it looks more like a coffee house upon first glance. Then take a step inside and see the walls decorated with craft beer signs, mirrors, clocks, and neons from Dogfish Head, Rogue, Moerlein, Stone, Southern Tier, Great Lakes, and so on. And the great thing is, they have bottles from all of these brewers and more. There are no taps along the short bar, but the bottle selection is very good and easy to see right behind the bar. There is a ’beer of the month’ every month, which is $2.25 a pop. Recent ones include Great Lakes Eliott Ness and Southern Tier 422. The atmosphere is a nice blend of coffee house and bar- a good place to get some coffee and work done during the day, and then a good crowd for live music at night. The food is solid- great hummus, chicken salad, kebabs, and soups, from what I’ve had here. Baba Budan’s is a great reprieve from the macro-heavy bars surrounding it, a nice place to knock back a few bottles with friends, and at college campus prices.
