(Visited 05/2006): Travelled here to see the Supersuckers. Beachland Ballroom is off Waterloo Rd north of downtown Cleveland. There should be street parking somewhere close. The area is not very safe as evidenced by the number of police cars cruising around, however the place is pretty well kept-up from the outside. On the inside, the venue is open and spacious with the stage on the far end. The bar is found through a door in the rear right, and being setup that way allows some of the sound coming from the stage to be filtered out. The bar has a great mix of breweriana and old movie memorabilia on the walls. It is also pretty cramped but the bartenders keep up well. There are no draught beers available here, however there is a decent selection in bottles. Quite a few choices from GLBC, as well as Anchor, Sierra Nevada, and lesser-known macros. Also a decent selection of imports like Paulaner, Sam Smiths and a few European beers that you don’t see often. The service was pretty good, although I imagine during a packed show they would have trouble keeping up. I didn’t have any food and I’m not sure if they offer anything beside snacks. All in all this is a pretty good concert venue and the beer selection is better than most places where the focus is on live music. However I would not recommend a visit just for the beer.
