shigadeyo | Main Street Gourmet is a nice little shop packed full of wine, beer, and coffee. This is exactly the kind of store one would expect to find in a college town. This store is nicely decorated and a wonderful coffee aroma wafts through the air. The beer selection isn’t great, but they have many mico, craft, and import selections. They don’t really have anything out of the oridinary, but they do still have a bunch of Stone 06.06.06 and some other stuff like that. However, what’s nice is that they do single out the 12 oz bottles in addition to the usual 22 oz and 750 mL bottles. This is one of those places that you could go into, sit down in like it was your living room, read a book or magazine, and just never leave!

MAP | If I was any bigger I dont think I could have fit down the narrow little isles they have. A decent selection gave me about 10 or so new beers to try and pleanty of old standbys like Stone and Bigfoot. Definately more of a wine specialty shop, and they seem to have a good supply of coffee, but neither of those interest me. Service wasnt really there. The only thing the girl said to me was, "do you want a....um....uhhh...." to which I helped her out with "carrying case, yes, Id love one."

Silphium | I neglected to enter this store although I intended to several times...since Brodie made up for my laziness I’ll rate this store. Has the best selection in Oxford (which isn’t stating much), including a handful of Bell’s, Stone, and Great Lakes. By and large the majority of the ~100 beers are mediocre lagers or common-as-dirt &quo;microbrews,&quo; but there is also the occasional Saison du Pont. Less picked-over than many nearby stores for Stone products, but they arrive later here. Cramped quarters. The service is quite good, however- friendly and quite helpful.

Brodie | Very nice selection of bottles for a small town like Oxford. Not worth going out of your way for, but if you’re in town visiting Miami University, it’s your best bet for decent beers. About 100 or so micros and imports, some relatively rare, and no macros. Also carries an excellent selection on wines and coffees.
