5 reviews for Weasel Boy Brewing Company
| BeerBelcher (130), Columbus, Ohio | | June 8, 2009 I enjoyed the Bitter Sable at the Mini-Real Ale Fest (MRAF) at Barley’s in early-May, and paid the brewery a visit with Jabier. Zanesville is not the most likely locale to find a craft brewer, but Weasel Boy has a great location - on a bluff above the river. When we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, the owners were present along with a few locals. It was great to sit on their patio overlooking the river and enjoy a sampler of all the beers they had on draft (which was reasonably priced). This place is not big - you could easily drive past it - and the interior is tasting room and working brewery in one space, but it was a bright happy space. I was a little disappointed in the selection of beers offered during my visit in that there were no "big" styles on tap, but that fact caused me to try styles that are usually 2nd or 3rd choices for me. However, they were all pretty good, and I can’t call that much of a criticism. There was no food evident during our visit, although the website mentioned flatbreads…there was a restaurant next-door though, and it seemed like the establishment was cool with bringing in outside food. This would be a great place to kill a summer afternoon. | | satan165 (60), River Grove, Illinois | | February 21, 2009 what a find! stopped in on a saturday night -- live entertainment brought enough people and the appropriate ambiance to echo an actual party -- and a good one at that! spent 20 minutes discussion the beers available there and beer in general with jay. it is rare to have a totally enjoyable discussion about beer with anyone that is devoid of condescention -- much less a brewmaster in his own domain! tried three different brews, all enjoyable. great service all around, including jay’s wife amongst two others behind the bar. this is a must see in ohio! | | BuckeyeBoy (57), Boise, Idaho | | September 20, 2008 A Big THANKS to the Owner/Brewmast. For letting me and my family stop in on trip to OH-IO. This place was Great the brews are very tasty along with a very nice selection. The river is right out on the patio. Very cool. A nice place. keep up the good work.
Thanks Again | | kassner (18), Wexford, Pennsylvania | | September 8, 2008 [ Updated October 7, 2008 ] Industrial Ambiance with a factory on the river bank, so great local. It’s all about the beer, but the view is nice. Really friendly, just wish I could have enjoyed more but as it is a waystop off I -70, I had two small beers. Only open in late afternoon, and the locals don’t know ir exists, but the two beers I had were great. Restaurant next door carries their beers on tap and though small has a great patio by the river and was friendly.
Stopped again and had a great version of Oktoberfest | surveysays (1), , Alabama does not count - explanation | | June 29, 2008 A great place to hang out and have a fresh beer in Zanesville. I have been to brewpubs all over the States, and Weasel Boy’s is definitely one of my favorites. It’s not too big, yet not too small. There is lots of beer memorabillia on display, a couple couches, a patio, and of course a bar. The exposed brick walls give this place a great feeling, and the riverfront view is pretty neat. Every time I have been in there they also had a guest tap if you felt like trying something other than a Weasel Boy original. |
