RateBeer Brew Tour Guide's Comments
The Woolwich Arms is a traditional British-style pub offering a relaxed, casual atmosphere. The dining is very nice and offers some specialty cuisine. There are always local microbrewed beers on hand and usually 3-4 real ale taps. They also offer an extensive wine list. Last updated: October 20th, 2002.

This has that smaller city friendly relaxed feel to it. Mostly uiniversity types, plus us, plus several already intoxicated types walking in. Bargirls were efficient and yet friendly enough. Some knowledge on the beers. Food is same quality and price as in the Toronto metro region. I think 14 taps, at good carbonation, plus 3 consatnt casks. Pints were comaprable to Toronto metro. Everything fresh.Easy to get parking. Good local selection and a seasonal. I was impressed overall. I would come here again.

Great little Brit-style pub in an old Guelph home. Excellent collection of microbrews for folks like me who want to try everything once. The waitress asked what my favourites were, recommended a St Ambroise Oatmeal Stout, and she was dead on. Had the blackened bison burger with fries, excellent higher-end pub fare. I’d definitely go back.

Good pub located in an old victorian house. Service was fast, and staff knew their stuff when I was there. On tap were about half dozen ontario micros, wellington and F & M to name some. Sleeman too. Also on tap were three beers from McAuslan, and two from Unibroue. Had a cask of Macleans which was nice. Good ambiance. I’ll be returning.

Guelph’s own establishment of The Arrow Neighbourhood Pub Group - a very hospitable local pub in a beautiful Victorian house with a wrapped veranda. As with the other Arrow locations, the Woolwich has the regular pubfare menu with enphasis on freshness and portions - it doesn’t knock the reputation. I had the burger and fries and was quite full. There was Wellington SPA and Ironwood cider - both highly recommended.

Nice little bistro posing as a pub....old house converted...old trappings...great food but not a lot of beers on tap...had a fast Wellington iron duke and a Quesadilla then hustled out to the bike to search for a more comfortable watering hole...too many upscale trendoid folks there who are unintrested in good beer or good conversation....just like to be seen there I guess. The little pub around the corner has more taps ...will review that soon if I can get the thing listed on this site.

A small little pub in Guelph, offers some nice local micro brews (and some Sleeman stuff). Not a lot of taps, maybe 10, but good taps nonetheless.
