robinvboyer | Kinda dingy inside, not as clean as you would expect. But the tap list was nice, and they had a firkin so that a plus! food was passable. Meh, i went once, and haven’t been back.

| DuctTape | A very nice little bar in the Mirvish Village area of Toronto. They have a very good draft selection of Ontario microbrewers and have a rotating hand pump. The crowd tends to be a bit younger and from the artsy/hipster crowd as it is at the north end of the Annex neighbourhood, but its a great place to go for a Burger and a pint of very good beer.

shintriad | Good service, surprisingly decent pub food, great prices, and an honest selection of local beers on tap. Characterful, no-BS atmosphere that’s conducive to jazz bands and even the occasional poetry slam. The crowd tends to be fairly young, geek-chic Annex types. A great default pub if you’re in this always-happening neighbourhood.

DerWeg | Very worthy Toronto stop with plentiful fresh regional Draught, and a respect for all things beer. General pub fare plus a few better options, fair prices. Nothing fancy but a warm atmosphere that makes it feel like a true Ale House rather than a hijacked storefront. Love the patio in summer, great location.

jerc | Have been here a few times, and apparently not rated. Service is friendly and nice, though you may sometimes need to flag them down if you are in a hurry to leave. Patio is pretty awesome, though I wish the whole thing was smoke free. I typically order the burgers or the drumsticks, both of which are nice - I really loved the dill dipping sauce for the potatoe wedges. Was actually a bit disappointed to find that it was a brunch menu late into the day on sunday - I was hoping for a burger. Bruch was adequate, the homefries were spiced up in a way that was just ok, portion was ample. Beer selection is quite good, with a good representation of the local breweries and a range of styles.

mabel | Visited mid-afternoon on a sunny summer Sunday, this cafe is tucked away on a quiet little street away from the hustle and bustle of Bloor, across from the KarenFoundIt antique store (which is interesting in name only, FYI). Staff is notably friendly and fairly efficient for the day. Beer selection is fair with nothing too rare, but our Macleans Pale and Denisons Weissbier draught pints were in superb condition. Food menu was a short and sweet brunch selection -- our ’classic’ breakfasts had some tasty eggs, toast, and fruit and bacon (and interested wasps), though the home fries were overly spicy and overly cooked. Unfortunately there was a man chain-smoking at a nearby table on the patio. But hey, these were just little things, no real complaints -- overall, it’s a nice local watering hole that would be fun to visit again.

Sammy | In the heart of Mirvish Village,if you look several blocks you can find parking. Eight taps on and no cask when I visited, with small quantities. Some of the trendier beers, I would call this the fifth best Toronto place to visit. Most servers do not know much about the beers, but are friendly and trained to pour. A good sized patio and long bar, but overall a village/blue collar environment. Lots of couples. Not much in bottles and the little food I had was average. Tight inside for seating.

mephisto | this place a nice patio that is perfect for afternoon drinks with friends. the selection is ok only, but the service and food make up for it a bit. a very veggie oriented menu, which pleases my friend, but not me. overall, a decent bar/restaurant.

tupalev | Update: Cask and Tap Selection amongst the best in the city now and certainly the freshest. Well done Victory.
Neat college type pub in behind Honest Ed’s. Good fresh micro pints, very fresh well cared for cask ale. Neat split room atmosphere. Decent food. Very friendly, but the times I have been there, overworked staff (i.e. not enough). I always try and stop by when catching a flick at the Bloor.

mds | Finally made it out here after a long time coming. Fairly quiet on Saturday in the early afternoon with a few groups of people having brunch.
Great selection of draught beer that is quite similar to Volo in terms of quality. I don’t know if there were 20, but possibly more like 15 including one cask.
I wasn’t too interested in brunch and their regular menu wasn’t offered until approximately 15:00.
Had a curry chicken dish that was pretty tasty along with a few pints including Black Oak Nut Brown, Ste Andre East IPA, and Denisons Weissbier. Unfortunately the bottle list was a bit weak with nothing of particular interest. Old, creaky character- very comfortable.
