| KAggie97 (122), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring , Texas | | August 6, 2008 Stopped by here on my way to Eugene via Seattle. The pub featured a beautiful view of the Columbia River outside a nuovo beach house decor building. Kinda nondescript from the outside, this pub opens up when you walk in. The bartenders that served me were very friendly and knowledgable about the beer. I talked shop with one of them for a good half hour, and it turns out he has grandparents in Houston. I had the sampler and the beers were much better than I expected, as I expected this to be a slightly-better-than-BJs Houston brew pub. Nice place. | | bhensonb (244), Woodland, California | | August 4, 2007 [ Updated December 18, 2007 ] 08/04/07 Hit the pre-happy hour time of day. Oyster shooters at the bar. Barleywine. Hey, it was all good. Service was good, but had to work for notice. Some good views from a number of tables. Don’t miss it, if you are near Astoria. 12/18/07 Back again today for dinner. Raising the food evaluation. Still recommend it highly. | beermaker (2), portland , Oregon does not count | | August 3, 2006 Our family stops at the Wet Dog every summer & it gets better & better every year.
The view is fantastic & they’ve got a new menu that’s great for a pub. We ate on the deck, it was a beautiful sunny day, and our server was very knowledgeable about the beer and menu items. We had a great experience. | AstoriaJerry (3), Astoria, Oregon does not count | | August 2, 2006 As an Astorian I am happy to see they have a new Beer and food menu. Beer is great and food is good. Service sucks. | | harlequinn (114), Tacoma, Washington | | May 26, 2006 Decent little place, with quite a strange clientile coming in and out. Definitely a place to people watch. Relatively new brewer and the beer has much improved as of recent. Some hits and misses, but beautiful scenery, if you are spending a day on the coast, worth checking out. The staff was quite friendly and attentive. The only negative was the woman down the bar, playing games chain smoking cigarettes | | BrewDad (188), Olympia, Washington | | February 13, 2006 Not too bad but could be a lot better. The view is awesome the food is so so. The beer needs work. The brew needs work and some flavor. They need to work with the system and get a pro in to do the brewing. I will go back in time to check it out. | | BückDich (218), Boise, Idaho | | March 11, 2005 Easly place to get to, right on the water. Got here at night so really couldn’t see anything of the town other than a giant bridge. Inside is much larger than I expected. They had a good pianist playing and the staff was somewhat helpful. She did mess up the order of the sampler though, which is frustrating to say the least. Didn’t try the food. The beers were fairly lousy save for a few and overall I was happy to leave this place. Might visit it again if I’m in the area. | | mikebeertaster (22), vancouver, Washington | | January 4, 2005 Nice location right down on the water. They have a pool table or two. Food and beer are both above average. Turns into a bit of a dance club on weekend evenings. At that point it isn’t great for hanging out, but makes for some great people watching when the locals get drunk. | | batkins (76), Vancouver, Washington | | November 28, 2004 The view is great. The place is nice, with a friendly wait staff. Beer is ok. This is a nice place to sip a beer and watch the storms come in. | | acrdz (538), Boulder, Colorado | | October 28, 2004 This is the Pacific Rim Brewing Company, but goes by the name Wet Dog Cafe. This place is huge, made of wood, and very dark... but it’s not too bad because it sits out near the pier, and you get a good view of the mouth of the Columbia River to the north. The beer is decent, and the samples are huge. Only downsides were the wandering eyes of a few locals who kept staring at my girlfriend, and the sunlight which was baking me in my seat at the bar. | View Page : 1 2
