Beer selection was large and often unusual. Lots of Fantome and Mikkeller. Staff started boxing my beers while I was still shopping! Ordered sandwiches which were prepared while I shopped. Very impressive offering of local drinks. Has similiar selection breadth as a Whole Foods, and it was really focused on local, Oregonian drinks. Very friendly staff, I talked with Dan the bev. mgr. for a few mins and he was very knowledgeable of his selection and the local breweries and pubs. I buy 99% of my shit from Market of Choice on Willamette. I have been to all of them. Selection for a Eugene (really any) supermarket is indeed supreme. The organization of the beers is sometimes not so great though. It’s convenient to shop here, but if I had an alternative I would not shop here as much.

Words like best selection of beer in a grocery store ever… Echo in your mind when you walk in this place. I mean I have been to beer stores without this kind of selection. Lots and lots of PNW micros, as well as beers from Jolly Pumpkin, Dogfish head, Alesmith and Avery, lots of Belgian and a whole lot of weird and wonderful(?) foreign beers, Casablanca, Beer Macao, and the like. Great selection, you’d never guess it was a grocery store. Talk to Brian, he knows the beer and he’ll tell you what to look for. Check out the cheese section, it’s as good as the beer. Great selection of west coast micros. A decent selection of Belgians. I was able to find alot of stuff I have yet to see anywhere else in southern oregon. |
