| hayduke (10), Eureka, California | | March 19, 2009 [ Updated April 11, 2009 ] Most of taps were pouring the usual main offerings with a few specials. The waitperson realized I was a beer geek, so brought out a sample of a new brew that was just tapped (happened while were there eating) of Irish Stout. Good stuff. Service was good, and the bacon burger was fantastic. The 22’s were only $3. Overall good beers ,good food, and good service. This is what a brewpub is about. I did not have time for the brewery tour but hope to do this next time at this very friendly place. | | spikester (10), Salem, Oregon | | February 13, 2009 Take the brewery tour and get a free logo glass and a free pint. A bit corporate and sports bar ambience, service was good for me. The usual Full Sail product on tap with some seasonals and specials to be tried. Bombers usually go for $3 and sixers for $6.99. Special releases can be as high as $9 per bomber so ask first. Usually if it has gold foil at the top of the bottle it is the higher priced beer. If you enjoy what FS has to offer I highly recommend it. | | shadey (31), Rochester, New York | | October 2, 2008 Great place. The service was really extraordinary. The bartender gave us the rundown on everything they had on tap as well as some history of the lupulin fresh hop beer series. At the time, it was made with Rainier Hops, and it was disappointing to find out the Cascade version was only about a week away. | | BlackDonald (59), Boise, Idaho | | August 3, 2008 Always a treat coming here, especially when they are brewing, man I never get tired of that smell of fresh cooked grains. Great view overlooking the river. I have not tried the food in all the times I have stopped here. Always have a few first run taps and seasonals, occasionally a brewery only special which is always nice. | | BeerFanDan17 (22), Land O Lakes, Florida | | July 30, 2008 Just an incredible place. Ambiance is greatbeautiful scene overlooking the Hood River. Selection is hard to rate as its all Full Sail except for a few other crafts or specialties. The food was very good. I recommend the beer basted baby back ribs. | | Ungstrup (245), Frederiksberg, Denmark | | June 15, 2008 The tap room at the brewery has a fantastic view across the river into Washington, but otherwise pretty standard interior - with a long bar. The service was friendly, after a tour of the brewery we were taken thru all the beers available - also some limited edition brews - nice. All in all I had 8 new beers. The burger I had was good. I’ll swing by if I’m in Hood River again. | inkubus27 (7), Highland, Indiana does not count - explanation | | April 21, 2008 First of all I love that this is an employee owned company and that they take care of the people who make the beer. Really neat! Not to mention that they take great efforts to be as environmentally conscious as possible. The brewpub was great. Awesome scenery..Columbia river... beers were great, and found ’06 Boardhead on tap. I was super impressed with Full Sail. | HughConway (4), Washington does not count - explanation | | March 22, 2008 Decent service, not great ambiance. Nice selection of beers, great view. | | boFNjackson (54), Portland, Oregon | | January 21, 2008 I was somewhat disappointed with this one. Service was moderate, and food was really tasty, but it felt more like sports bar than a brewpub... Totally felt sold-out. The tap selection was the usually round of Full Sail brews with a few Brewmaster Reserve taps. It was too polished and glossy, felt like I was in a bar in an airport or ski lodge in Aspen. My advice would be to walk two blocks down and head over to the Double Mountain Brewery and Taproom. We walked by there afterwards and I had such a deep feeling of regret. Don’t make the same mistake I did. | | DrBayern (39), Morehead City, North Carolina | | July 29, 2007 I did not have a good experience here. Too bad, because physically, it is a nice facility. I went with my wife for dinner, and we elected to sit outside because the weather was nice, and the patio seemed more pleasant than the inside seating. Once seated, we were forgotten for about 10 minutes. The service remained inattentive and detached. Food was decent, but nothing special. I only had one beer, primarily because I sat for almost 15 minutes with an empty glass, and had competed my dinner by the time the waiter returned and asked if I wanted the check. He never even asked if I wanted another beer. By that time I was so peeved, that I just wanted to get out. It’s a brewery for God’s sake!!!! I loved Hood River, but I wouldn’t go back here, and there are other options within a two block walk that are much better. Besides, Full Sail is available on draft almost everywhere you go, and they didn’t have anything special here that I didn’t see on other tap lists in town. I was actually warned by a local not to go here. I should have listened. |
