batkins showed me this place in northeast portland, quite a fun place. The night we were there this guy was rockin out on a fiddle and playing some irish and classical tunes. A great brew selection with some unique special releases. Food was really good and the overall pub atmosphere was good. A few too many children in the place, which turned out to be a problem cause i was watching the redsox play the yankees and had to keep apologizing for my F-words.

The County Cork is a small traditional Irish style pub. They have 23 taps that rotate a great selection of micro’s, with a tendency toward local beers. There are also 2 casks and a nitro tap. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The food includes some traditional Irish fare, as well as a great fish and chips. Live music on Tues. & Thurs., usually acoustic and/or Irish. NO SMOKING. Children are always welcome there. While it doesn’t fall into the same catagory as the Horsebrass, this is a great little place to stop in for a beer or two.
