What an old worn barn this brewpub is set in. The whole interior is just worn wood, in the huge drinking arear, which is lit by very uninviting lighting. They only serve sandwiches which is a drawback. 10 beers on draft, 9 of which was new to me, which was the only reason one should go here. Service was slow. I might come back if I’m close by, to see if another tick is possible, but I won’t go far out of my way for this place.

This place is damn near perfect. Granted, they have more space than most, but they use it well- large open inside seating area with a huge windowed wall where you can observe the goings-on in the dog-run. Beer selection and quality is great- who needs guest taps when the house beer is so good and offers so many choices?? Most of the Lucky Lab beers I sampled were well above average some of the best in Portland I could find. Standouts were the Pavlovs Imperial Stout, SuperDog IPA and a cask stout that was really nice. The food here was decent brewpub fare and priced reasonably, no complaints. Service was fast (both food and bar) and bartenders seemed knowledgeable of the products and only slightly apathetic. Would highly recommend+Great value! PS This place had at least 8-10 taps and at least 1 cask when I was there.

The place is a barn, crooked tables, patch chairs, but its lack of ambiance is its ambiance, the people heer are friendly and casual. Given that they only have 1 guest tap, they do okay with their own brews, having branched out more in the last year or two (though their multnomah branch has a couple more to choose from.) The food is simple. tasty and filling; I’m a particular fan of the sandwiches. Good place to gather.

Big place with towering ceilings and skylights. There was a patio out back. Ordered a BLT and a few beers at the long bar. 10 house beers including one nitro and one cask. The BLT I ate was decent. The beers were good.

Had to check the map to remember which one I went to. Talk about a sampler tray! 12 6oz samples. The place was a barn. Huge with wooden tables. The bar covered the whole front expanse. Had a spicy chicken and rice meal that complemented the beers well.

[2006 Lucky Labrador Barley Wine & Big Beer Festival]
Visited during this festival and had a great time. The festival brought me there I will be back due to the place looked like fun. A open space for everyone to be in. A few little side rooms butt he big open space made it fell like an old time brew hall. Loved the brew and the food was awesome. Get some good Organic Oregon food while there. Try the pizza and the sandwiches where awesome. This place is a great find and a fun place to bring people to visit. You can brig your dogs to the outdoor patio sitting. And kids are allowed also. Loved the hardwood floors and the NO Smoking was awesome!!! Woof Woof Lucky Lab.

This place is definitely different. The allow dogs on the patio. I loved the idea, but was always worried about a dog fight. The food was strickly sandwiches, which were ok. This is not the place if you are hungry for a good steak, but is fun to watch all the people and dogs. I really enjoyed the beer served there. The bar service was far better then the food service. The beers were a good selection and above adverage is taste. Not my favorite beer in Portland, but worth a look.

Love the lab-oriented décor and quirky hippie-zone place, but in the end most of the beers were average.
