| gsmitty80 (40), Washington DC | | November 20, 2009 This location was very comparable to the main location. Very good food and very good service. The beer selection was a little less though, they had mostly only their year round beers a sesional or two and two cask beers. | | tronraner (100), Seymour, Tennessee | | March 17, 2009 Pretty easy to find place, which is good. Concrete floors and a real bar feel to the place, which I kind of like. I was impressed that they had 14 different ABC beers on tap, of widely varying quality. I didn’t eat anything, so I’ve no opinion on food. | | f351c4v (77), Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania | | September 13, 2008 Located on Carlisle Pike, not far from Camp Hill or Mechanicsburg. Generous bar area with sufficient seating at the bar or tables surrounding the bar. Also, there’s a decent sized dining area. At least 10 taps, a few seasonals, along with the standards (IPA, pale ale, wheat, stout, etc.) Bartenders seem knowledgable, and will give a free sample of their various draughts. There’s a decent bottle selection, as well, mostly of the Belgian variety. Burger is OK, as is the pizza, just a touch pricey for what you get. Worth a stop. | | ¾ (599), Colorado | | February 21, 2008 Look and feel of the place isn’t much different than the other ABC spots. Brown bar, a couple of TVs, some brewania, but you can’t shake the whole artificial feeling, how this is really a restaurant that brews beer, I guess that’s how it ends up when your central PA crowd wants it like that. So, among the young professionals from area were a few flannel wearing farm-type locals as well, which is fun to see. But the place was entirely filled with cigarette smoke, I was gagging. It was only 6pm but the place was filled with nasty smoke. Beer selection is OK, but they didn’t have anything not available at the Harrisburg or Gettysburg locations. Early Feb 08 they had the imperial stout, smoked, and a couple of the Camp Hill fruit lambics. I probably won’t go back. The Harrisburg location is still smoking, but it’s not nearly as bad as it was here. | | Nejhleader (64), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania | | July 23, 2007 nice place, same good food as the other locations for the most part, has a good selection of their own beers, and a decent variety of belgiums, friendly and fast service, worth a stop. | ShKincaid (3), Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | March 26, 2007 Smaller version of the main establishment in downtown Harrisburg. Good food - good service - good beer. Nice place to hang out and relax after work. | cbrixius (9), Newberrytown, Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | February 17, 2007 Went on a Friday night but the place seemed a bit subdued, probably because of traffic nightmares around town. Having been to the Harrisburg and Gettysburg locations, it was only a matter of time to check this one out. The bar side was a bit more what I want out of a beer joint, but we ate on the restauarant side, which was open and seemed too bland. Service was a bit slow and the food was average. The beers were good and they had their whole lineup available. | | illinismitty (224), Nashville, Tennessee | | January 20, 2007 The downtown Harrisburg was being remodeled, so I hit this location instead. Interior struggles for some identity, as it appears to be half brewpub chain and half local bar. I stopped in after 8pm during the week, and it was pretty crowded with a 21 -35 year old crowd. It was very loud and smoky. Combined with the dimly lit bar, it’s not the optimum place to drink beer if you are wanting to unwind at the end of the long workday. But if you are wanting to hang out and socialize, this place seems to be pretty popular. Most of the beers are average with a few of them above average. They sell most of their beers in six packs to go. There are also a handful of bottled Belgian beers if one of their beers do not suit your fancy. I did not eat, but the food looked pretty good. The Harrisburg brewpub appears to have more ambiance as it is an older building, so I would recommend you try that location first. Plus, the Harrisburg location has a Belgian Bar upstairs. |
