8 reviews for Marzoni’s Brick Oven and Brewing
| JaBier (14), Capital City, Ohio | | November 18, 2009 Fourth stop on the super ultimate OSU vs. Penn State slash beer adventure weekend. Showed up right at 11 a.m. and were the only people in the place. Nice looking place and the staff was friendly and attentive. Not the best place we visited this weekend (Beer Engine has that title hands down), but definitely the most surprising in terms of beer. Their stout, IPA and APA selections on this day were very good, their light beer was the best I’ve ever had and their amber, wheat and saison were all decent. Pizza was tasty, with a choice of spent grain whole wheat crust (something every brewpub/pizzeria should offer). Crust was a bit overdone on the bottom, but what did I expect from brick oven? Would definitely come back if I by some bizarre happenstance find myself in this part of the state again. | | FROTHINGSLOSH (26), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania | | July 12, 2009 This place had a large, open atmosphere that was decently decorated. They had 8 beers on tap of decent quality and reasonable price. The food was good with nice portions and a reasonable price. The service was typical and the staff somewhat knowledgeable about the beers they served. Nothing really stood out or inpired me but the experience was decent. | | tronraner (100), Seymour, Tennessee | | January 23, 2008 Marzoni’s is a big Italian restaurant in a huge parking lot. The atmosphere is nice- well lit, very open, lots of windows, very clean, and clear view of the brewing operation. The bar is a large square in the middle of the floor. The bartender was exceptionally nice. When I asked some questions about the beer, she admitted she didn’t know much about beer and ended up fetching the brewmaster, with whom I had a brief chat. He’s also quite nice. Beers ranged from not-so-good to very good (the IPA is tasty). I really enjoyed my experience here. I’ll probably go back next time I’m in the area. | | Nejhleader (64), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania | | February 22, 2007 Pretty nice place, very big, had 8 of their beers on tap, which were fairly good. Food was reasonable priced and pretty good, and the service was friendly. Worth a stop if your in the are. Get the eight 6oz sampler for only $7, good deal. | | ¾ (599), Colorado | | August 12, 2006 A family restaurant with an Italian slant, and a brewpub... it’s ok, I guess. Dishes didn’t look too inspiring, but probably not from lack of effort - I had the "nachos" which was really all of the ingredients found in a calzone but then thrown on top of tortilla chips... it didn’t really work well. Beer quality was fairly good, the IPA especially I found to be exceptional, rivaling some of my favorite IPAs from the west coast. Worth a visit, but be prepared for a family restaurant atmosphere complete with kids and old people. | | DocLock (108), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania | | June 14, 2005 Really good food here, and the beers are world class. I first had Bill’s beers at the Harrisburg fest 2004, and I was immediately impressed by them. The food is Italian in flair with some American stuff also. | | Nate (194), Indiana, Pennsylvania | | June 6, 2004 [ Updated April 27, 2005 ] Updated 26 April 2005. At this point, Marzoni’s is now my closest brewpub, and I am pleased about that. Bill has made some wonderful beers so far, and I get excited each time a new one comes out. There are 6 permanent and 2 seasonal taps. For permanent, I recommend both the stout and the IPA. So far the best seasonal has been the saison - it ranks right up there with the Fantome and other Belgian ones, ladies and gentlemen. And whether you’re in for a few bar snacks or a full meal, the Italian-themed dishes, along with some creative American cuisine will allow any diner to find something they enjoy. If you’re in the area, send me a beermail. | md79 (3), does not count - explanation | | May 29, 2004 Marzoni’s is dedicated to producing real beer for real beer lovers. There selection includes 6 regulars (lite, amber, american wheat, pale ale, ipa and stout) and two rotating taps (currently irish red and alt with a dortmunder scheduled to replace the red). The food features brick oven pizzas, panninis and casual italian-american fare. All in all, a great place to stop in for a pint or for a family night out. |
