78 The little gastro-pub that could! |
78 This is a tiny pillbox house in a town that is impossibly cute, and I mean that in a good way. The bar is a small L-shaped thing with about 6 or 8 stools, and there’s a small dining room elsewhere, which I didn’t peak into, but you could see food and plates going back and forth. The food looked interesting and unique, but sadly the kitchen closed at 3, and I got there just afterward. The beers were tasty and creative, and available in flights of four, with seven beers on in total. Staff and locals were a lot of fun, making for a cozy atmosphere. They’re moving to a bigger place, I hope they keep the small place vibe. |
70 House converted into a brewpub that has a pretty cool vibe. Nice layout with some really cool tables made from old doors. Service was nice and attentive. 8 beers on tap covering a diverse set of styles, but none were that memorable. Didn’t eat, but what food we saw ordered by others looked absolutely delicious. Overall a decent place, but not something to go out of your way to visit. |
88 This is a small, well done classy nano brewpub worth checking out if your passing by on route 283. Its built into a restored house one block off the main street of the small town of mount joy. Much more class than the Bubies brewpub which is right down the street. Has a small L shaped bar that can seat about 10-12 people max. The bar was finished with hammered copper, nice touch. There is a mid size eating room adjacent to the bar. Had about 8 of their own brews on tap, most of them milder and easy to drink. None of the brews were over the top in personality. The only drawback to visiting here is being careful where you park. Evidently the neighbors are possessive of their parking spots. Had a sampler of eight 5 oz beers for about $18. Overall very positive beer drinken experience. The patrons and the barmaid, who was probably the brewmaster’s wife, were extremely friendly. Even the brewmaster was in and out asking how things were. Yes, a good time! |
50 Nice place in small town Mount Joy, the food was very fresh, creative and tasty, however the menu is small. Staff is friendly and approachable, food came out quickly and was well made. Beer was OK. |
