| CanIHave4Beers (54), Des Moines, Iowa | | October 13, 2009 Pretty freaking cool bar, specifically set up for beer/wine/cheese/chocolate tasting complete with glass washers right there at the tables... like I would sit at a table pffff.... The bartender was remarkably kind very knowledgeable about beer and excited to discuss everything we ordered... it may not have hurt that we were there at five o’ clock on a weekday. But anyway this place had some really unique beers and I really dug it. | | jredmond (37), New Jersey | | June 8, 2009 Beneluxx Tasting Room is accessable from the street down some small steps. Once inside, the bar appeared to be under some construction. Aside from that, the ambiamce was great. Menus display a fine variety of beer, wine, chocolate, and cheese. Most of the beer can be sampled ina smaller chalice - however the prices are a bit steep. | | Pwn3d (38), Manhattan, New York | | June 7, 2009 Went here after going to Victory’s brewpub. Small Belgian style bar. Cool atmosphere with Belgian flags and stained glass. Looked like it was under construction behind the bar. Beer selection had some things I expected and others that I didn’t recognize at all - and were pretty tasty! Prices were high. | | billk (35), Coeur d’Alene, Idaho | | April 14, 2009 Smallish and Pricey. I thought the tap selection was limited. We were given a sample of Duvel Green on tap, I thought he called it, which was quite good.
Had Orval cheese which was quite good too.
A nice place but I like Eulogy better, better value at Eulogy as well.
Doubt I’ll go back. | | kkearn (21), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | February 23, 2008 I’ve beer here 3 times so far. The initial 2 visits, I sat at the bar for beer and cheese, last night I had dinner with a group of friends. Service was a bit slow, but the servers were friendly and seemed to know the food and drink well enough. The beer selection was average for the Philly area, but it allowed me to introduce some non-beergeek friends to beers in small serving sizes. There weren’t any exceptionally rare or interesting beers available at any of my visits. I ordered the duck sausage, which was tasty, and my girlfriend really enjoyed her pizza. Overall, it’s a welcome addition to the philly beer scene, but I’d like to see a more unique beer selection. | | bp (47), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania | | November 11, 2007 Went here recently with my wife. Interesting concept of the small tastings of cheese and chocolate along with the ability to get smaller tastes of beer or a larger glass. I’m not a huge fan of the interior design but I do like the concept of this place. I didn’t feel like there were a ton of interesting beer selections available but there were a number of good ones. I will certainly go back if they manage to keep pulling in a number of obscure/hard to find beers - especially stuff that costs a lot to buy in cases/bottles in Philly - since I can get a taste before deciding if I want to go buy a bunch of something. | | illinismitty (224), Nashville, Tennessee | | November 1, 2007 Stopped in this last Tuesday night. This is located very close to Triumph and Eulogy in Old City, making this an ideal stop on a beer crawl. The tasting room is located in the lower of level of an older building, with access from the street. Trendy and cozy ambiance. I really enjoy the concept of this place. You can buy samples of wine, beer, chocolate, cheese, etc. Basically you can create your own tasting tray. They also have recommended pairings that you can order. Menu layout is simple, yet effective. The beer samples are served in a Erlinmeyer flash along with an empty snifter. I was able to sample four new beers without breaking the bank. I will definitely return next time I am in Philly, and perhaps try some cheese and chocolate on the next visit. WARNING- parking meters now run until 10pm. I found out the hard way with a $26 ticket. Thanks Philadelphia! | eulogybar (1), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | October 19, 2007 Announcing the opening of Beneluxx Tasting Room with 36 beers on tap which you can sample by the ounce!! |
