Smallish sports bar out in Mt. Airy. I stopped by after visiting Earth Bread + Brewery. They had a pretty nice tap selection that was well priced. Bartender knew the product well and was friendly enough. Nothing special about this place, but it’s nice enough and worth checking out if you’re on the brew tour.

Went for lunch on a monday. I was probably the only non-regular there. The waitress was nice and attentive. Certainly she knew what she was doing. My fish and chips were, while a little too salty, very tasty and spicy (for the fish)! Good selection of micros and even a couple of imports on tap. As for the ambiance, well, it’s a bar, nothing special but it was clean and the people were friendly. I’d go again in a minute.

Went for a couple hours on a Sunday night - terrific tap selection and some nice bottles. Service was super, and even got a round on the bartender. Interesting clientele and some great conversations were had. Definitely a place to hit if you’re going to go to Earth Bread & Brewery (a block away).

Was in here last night to scope this place out. It’s really nice to have a good beer bar within walking distance of home and work. The bottle selection is pretty good, but the taps were phenomenal. It feels just like a hometown bar. I wish it were a little cleaner but outside of that it’s a great place I plan on visiting much more often. Between this and Earth, Mt. Airy is hooked up.

One of the most diverse crowds I’ve ever seen at a bar - all ages and all walks of life found here. 17 drafts with offerings from Pyramid, Thomas Hooker, Smuttynose, Paulaner. Even the Duchesse on draft. Decent bottle selection as well, but I didn’t see a list so it may be better than the bottles that I actually saw. Average pub food. Overall a nice neighborhood bar, but really not comparable to a Monk’s or even Teresa’s.

Nice local place but the beer selection doesn’t stand up to places like Monk’s. Food was ok and service ok but not on a busy night like Friday and the place was very loud, normal for most bars.

Best bar in Philly. The beer is great. Always something new and the taps are clean and fresh. 16 Taps. Great food for lunch and dinner. Also great bar food. The best wings in Philly. Great service. Great to watch sports or hang out. Very diverse crowd and always friendly.

Great neighborhood pub. Truly representative of the neighborhood, enjoy a diverse and friendly crowd. Always a selection of microbrew specials and I can always count on great advice from awell informed waitstaff to help with my selections. Food specials always tasty and fresh. Give it a try but please don’t take my seat.

I can’t believe McMenamin’s hadn’t already been added. This is basically a local bar, full of friendly locals that is sort of a beer lover’s paradise located on the northwestern edge of the city. good rotating tap selection can surprise even people who are regular beer lovers here. recently dogfish 120 minute IPA was on tap (it didn’t last long). Usually 5 regular beers (beamish, yeungling, bass, harp and a hefeweizen), 2-3 belgians, a yards on the engine, and the rest rotate regularly. food specials start around 5:30 and change weekly. lunch specials are my favorite and change several times per week. families, even with children are common, but usually sit in the dining room in the back or outside. front bar has ample seating, though expect it crowded 7 nights a week. weekends can be crowded with 30 minute waits for tables - but well worth it. best eagles football bar in the city!
