24 reviews for Sharp Edge Creekhouse
| Brewman63 (25), , | | November 21, 2009 I realized that I haven’t updated my review for a few years and a lot has changed since then. They continue to excell at providing the best selection of beers on tap anywhere in the area (particularly Belgiums) but the biggest improvement the past few years has been the food. It has gone to second-rate to first-class. Everything from pizzas to appetizers to sandwiches to entrees to desserts are now fantastic. I have been here on many occasions over the past couple of years and since they’ve changed their menu I can’t think of one thing I’ve had to eat that has dissapointed me. Gret beer, great food, great atmosphere. What else can you ask for? | | Fatumsch (15), | | July 21, 2009 If you love beer you’ve got to make to one of the Sharp Edge establishment. Many unique beers on tap or in bottle. The Creekhouse house has more of a unique ambience than the other three so I like it the best. | | KornDogg (20), Lancaster, Pennsylvania | | October 9, 2008 Fun place... Love the Belgians...prices are steep, would not buy any sixers to go... but this is a great place to go for happy hour... This location isn’t as nice as the other locations but is easier to get to for happy hour... a must for people who want to start their evening off right... | | clingman71 (12), Centerville, Ohio | | August 24, 2008 Great Belgian list. Bartender was very knowledgeable. A little pricey though. | redbenny (2), , Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | July 10, 2008 Great place. Good slection of belgians on tap. Good food. Pretty good bottle selection. Service is so-so... they know their stuff... but it’s a tad slow and gloomy... oh well! Great place! | | CMUBEERMAN (49), Madison, Wisconsin | | May 16, 2008 hmm...not sure if both of the edges belong on the top 50. id recommend heading to the emporium over this one. I’ll post an edited version of my emporium rating and make some notes at the end..
Beers selection is pretty impressive as far as tapped belgians go...but don’t expect many of them to knock you socks off...also the pricing is a bit harsh (the emporium gets more turn around making their a tad more interesting for the locals). Go during the week day happy hour to get half off belgian drafts. Food is also hit or miss...if you splurge it is pretty great, but a little over priced. Service and crowding are less of an issue here (though im partial to my regular servers at the emporium) | | roder60 (31), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | May 6, 2008 [ Updated August 16, 2008 ] Awesome place. Went here a few nights before my wedding with my groomsmen and my friend in from Denmark and had an absolute blast. Sat out on the deck which is real nice and just enjoyed the great beer and great company. Every beer is served in its matching glass and can be purchased to take home. Especially tons of Belgian ales, some I had never heard of. Food is real good and service knowledgeable. top notch place. | SoBloHero (2), Buffalo, New York does not count - explanation | | March 27, 2008 A very nice surprise, totally smoke free in PA, which was a main selling point. Ordered a local brew and a Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, ON TAP! | | MikeF (95), Cleveland, Ohio | | January 1, 2008 Cool looking creekhouse not too far from the pittsburgh IKEA. Seating upstairs and down. Non smoking througout. Rather large menu with a Belgian slant, although not truly authentic belgian cuisine. The interesting menu items seemed fairly priced, but the portions fall short in my opinion. Many great Belgian beers on draft. Priced too high, but they have 1/2 all draft happy hour during the weekdays meaning lower than average draft prices during these times. Overall, a worthwhile stop in the pittsburgh area. Certainly the best belgian draft selection in pittsburgh. | PghDrake (2), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | June 11, 2007 I’ve been to this place several times. I used to go there when I worked closer to it, but I tried it out again recently. As others have said it has more of a restaurant feel to it - but I’m sorry to say the food is mediocre at best. The appetizers are better than the entrees by far. Desserts are ok. Beer selection is good, some good Belgians to choose from. Service was ok but the place was crammed even though it was only 1/2 full with patrons. Not a very comfortable environment for me. I wouldn’t hate going back, but I just wasn’t impressed with it while I was there. |
