A decent place for mix-n-match 6 packs. Decent prices. Decent selection of regional and national micros. Worthy of a stop when in town.

One of the few places in State College where a beer-hunter can easily buy singles. Unfortunately, the better regional beers are harder to find here and the markup is impressive. Nothing really to rave about, but when you’re living in a town where singles are rare, this place can seem like a gem.

I would never have added this place but mjames added it so I must chime in. I think it’s great in singles but it is somewhat limited. I could get Victory storm king, OH, GM, Magic Hat, bellhaven, paulener, and some others. Unless I wanted a couple singles for a night, i wouldn’t go because some of the prices suck along with the parking lot.

I never added this place mostly for what mjames already stated - it’s a Hooters. But, since he took the time to add it, I’ll rate it. OK, for singles, it’s nice to build your own six-pack, but if you’re just in town for a day, chances are you’re not coming to this place anyway. Stick with Zeno’s & Otto’s. But, if in for a conference, etc. then this is a decent place to grab a varied sixer.

As much I did not want to add a "Hooters" place to RateBeer, this location actually does have the best selection of beer in single bottles. Not ’the best selection in town’, but the best selection of 12oz single bottles. Most of the other six-pack shops in town just have 4-5 micros available only in six packs, but this location has about 3-4 coolers full of single bottles to buy. Prices are from approximately $1.40 - $2.90 for single bottles, which is pretty fair, and they had about 10-15 micros that I had not seen elsewhere in town. The ambiance is crummy, since it’s connected to a Hooters restaurant, but so far it’s the best place I’ve found in town for singles. Don’t go here if you’re looking for Stone, Weyerbacher or Unibroue, but if you want single bottles of Victory, Troegs, Magic Hat, Penn, Erie, etc, it’s worth a visit.
