98 The only other time I was in Portland years ago, Hair of the Dog was closed for remodeling/relocating. This has been a long time coming. The beer list is everything I had hoped for. I mostly just wanted to drink some Adam but they've got all kinds of variants of their beers, barrel aged, cellared, fermented in stone, etc. Hopefully we all know how good Hair of the Dog is at making beer by now. The service was excellent. They pay a lot of attention to the food too. If I'm ever in Portland again I will be back. |
82 Right near the Amtrak rail line, nice place tucked away not far from the Willamette. Typical brewery dining room look with oak tables and a smallish bar. Great beer is all that really matters! |
96 This place is spectacular. Reasonably crowded on a Friday around lunch but no problem getting a table. Food was pretty excellent and the beer was all their stuff and completely top notch.
Only downside is that if you come here, make sure you aren't driving afterwards as these guys do strong ales well and I (a 240 pound man) was probably not legal to drive after two beers. The beer is seriously spectacular though. |
86 Cool place with great beers. Service was good. Ambience inviting. The food was good, though the meat portions were skimpy. Interesting selection of bottles for in-house drinking only that in one trip I was obviously forced to forego. |
82 Great taproom with an oval bar, nice atmosphere, fantastic to try a good selection of HOTD beers |
