Located near the Université de Québec au l’Outaouais, this corner store surprisingly has a very good selection. You’ll find the full range of common Québec microbrew labels.
Has a tendency to make up prices – usually $1-2 more than Dépanne Plus.

Visited last Autumn after a bit of a bus commute from Ottawa -- easy to do if you’re feeling adventurous and strong (i.e. for carrying back all the goodies you’ll find there). It’s a quaint little groc-shop with a beer corner in the back and a few items of glassware for sale (I picked up my first Unibroue glass there -- a Fin Du Monde). Staff was friendly if busy, but still helped pack up the boxes. Selection is fairly broad with lots of local brews reasonably priced. Worth the trip even for the park at the end of the street as you can walk right up to the fence over-looking a great open view up and down the river, a particularly crisp and invigorating activity at that time of year. | caledonian (4), Ottawa, Ontario

Above average selection of mostly Quebec beers. Some of the sticker prices for single bottles are a lot more than I’d expect. Pay attention when loose single bottles are rung-up at the cash so that you don’t end up paying for a case. Both myself, who had a number of items and didn’t question the total, and the cashier are at fault on that one. Modest selection of Quebec brews yields some Unibroue favorites (2/$8.99), La Barberie, and misc. Schoune, Brasseurs RJ and some others. 12 oz singles are a bit overpriced. Won’t wow those with previous Quebec trips under their belt but is definitely worth a stop to check it out. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Easily accessed on the bus. I used to go there for almost a year now, and the beer selection have increased in the last months. They have now a good selection of Bièropholie/Chaudron, RJ, Unibroue, Saint-Arnould, Schoune and several other. Much the same selection as Depanne-Plus but at a premium price. I use it as a back-up location when other places are out of stock... |
