| JCB (35), Durham, North Carolina | | November 7, 2009 Spent a very nice evening here with a good friend, and enjoyed the duration. An unassuming, unpretentious joint, darkly lit with fairly abundant seating. Hockey on the tube, not terribly offensive music, a good place to simply kick it. Service was really wonderful, and our server (who was rather easy on the eyes) really knew her beer. Nice smoked almonds, olives, and cheese to carry us through, we really, really enjoyed the vibes and the range of solid beers. A must if you’re in MTL. | | TheJester (20), Peterborough, Ontario | | July 23, 2009 Visited early afternoon in June, during Mondial, and it was raining maple keys. The place is surrounded by hotels. Inside was almost empty, and had a warehouse-type feel. The patio outside was packed. The people were relatively quiet, but Sherbrooke Street wasn’t. Multiple chalkboard beer menus were visible. The service was very friendly and professional, but the poor girl was busy, as she seemed to be the only one working at the time. The food choices were minimal (paninis and chips), but everyone at my table found the sandwiches to be decent. The beer choices, mostly their own, but also 3 Mousquetaires and did I see a Hopfenstark (?), were varied and very tasty. I’ll definitely be back. | | JoeMcPhee (262), Jackson Heights, New York | | July 5, 2009 Stopped in here as soon as I arrived in Montreal. Sort of a modern, high ceilinged space with a fairly asymmetric layout. Had a pretty tasty panini as well as some nice cured olives. Service was quite attentive, both when it was empty, and later in the evening when it was busy. The beers were all very fresh and tasty. The pilsner especially was a high note for me. No complaints about this place. | | jredmond (37), New Jersey | | May 31, 2009 Visited this place while in Montreal. Located right across the street from the hotel. Ten or so taps. The atmosphere is the sleek, trendy modern feel. Annoying furniture - our table broke while we were there spilling our beers all over us and the floor. Much like the majority of bars in Montreal, we were reminded that it is customary to tip (do Americans normally not tip?) | | Pwn3d (38), Manhattan, New York | | May 25, 2009 [ Updated June 1, 2009 ] Part of Beerquest 2008. Stumbled upon accidentally due to close proximately to our Hotel. Beer selection was decent, maybe 12 taps but some were kicked. Atmosphere is not my style.. hard steel, ultra modern, cheap tables/chairs (ours actually broke and we lost a few beers to the floor). Beer is not really tasty.. maybe 1 or 2 drinkable beers on the menu. I was embarrassed to keep asking for samples (3 or 4) because I couldn’t find a beer to session on. Eventually I settled. | Fred82 (7), Montreal, Quebec does not count - explanation | | May 10, 2009 I first went there on their 3rd anniversary. Beer selection was really awesome. They had about 12 beers on tap. Service was quite fast (even if the place was full. They have a nice spot outside with a lot of tables. Inside, the decoration is very nice but it’s not like the usual brewpub. It has more the spirit of a night club than a brewpub. Paninis are great but this is not the place where you go if you want to eat a nice meal. Overall it is a very nice place with a great selection of nice beers from different syles. I will definitely go there again. Place rating #5 | | Diogène (25), Gatineau, Quebec | | May 3, 2009 Une autre très bonne adresse de Montréal. Les bières dégustées ur place étaient toutes de très bonne qualité, parmi les meilleures de type belge à Montréal. | | DYCSoccer17 (187), Davis, California | | April 14, 2009 I visited this place on a Tuesday around noon with my brother. It was very quiet without much going on. They had about 8 beers on tap, and I forget if they had a cask or not. I did not try their food. The interior is very spacious, modern, and with an industrial feel that is a bit art-deco, too. The bathrooms were pretty clean and well-kempt. The service was prompt and friendly. Seemed like a cool place, and definitely a great option if you’re waiting to kill time till 3pm. | | grandgenie (20), gatineau, Quebec | | January 16, 2009 O.K mais sans plus, j’ai apprécié le moment mais il existe beaucoup mieux à Montréal. Par contre le décor est une des plus hupé. | | PilsnerPeter (95), Flushing, New York | | January 5, 2009 Cool place. Trendy decor with high ceilings and an exposed ventilation system, which is painted a unique light blue color. The bartender was a young, hip guy, who was visibly intoxicated, but good on his feet. He was attentive, friendly, and an entertaining host. The selection had many styles, and were all very solid. I also ordered a chicken pannini, which was quite tasty. It came with potato chips and olives. Very cool spot with the trendy decor as well as a solid line of beers. Good for groups of friends, or just us individual beer geeks. |
