| robinvboyer (32), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario | | September 7, 2009 Nice looking place it was kinda small but it wasn’t very busy when we arrived. They only had 8 of their taps working instead of the 17 they claim a nd the cask was empty. The selection was pretty good lots of beers not available in bottles. The service ws good, we didn’t eat because I don’t think they serve food, mind you we didn’t ask. Overall it’s a nice place with a good selection and the 8 glass samler tray for $15 is awesome. The only problem is their beers just sent very good. | | mnurda (22), Winnipeg, Manitoba | | August 8, 2009 Sat outside on the patio on a great July evening. Great place for a beer. Very rustic, but warm and inviting. | | Rastacouere (475), Montréal, Quebec | | December 21, 2008 A small - they just increased surface, but the second, isolated part seems like it does not belong - neighborhood pub by the old train station which seems to have been there forever. Strong cooperative spirit inside will let you see older disabused hippies as well as young anarchists for a joyous, often loud crowd which has its charms. Rather cozy feel with its picnic tables, low-ceilings, hanging viking mugs. The unexpensive beers change quickly and vary a lot though, so it may not always be the safest spot if beer is your priority. They tend to be unstable at least and the experimental attempts can be downright frustrating - example: 3 different fruited witbiers out of 8 taps. Still, there are not so many options in Quebec and La Barberie is the local pride. | | Spab (24), Toronto, Ontario | | August 17, 2008 Comfortable brewpub with nice patio. Wide variety of beers on the 8 taps, but agree entirely with previous commenter that many were odd ones with some issues. Staff relaxed and friendly. Worth a visit, but be forewarned that you may not find a session beer on tap. | | Goldorak (110), Montreal, Quebec | | August 17, 2008 The overall atmosphere can be summed up as ’hippie’. The cozy patio was open, and offered plenty of shade.
8 Beers on the menu, pretty much all of them were of the freak show variety. Honey stout? Lime and Raspberry amber? Lime and Ginger Blonde? There’s nothing wrong with the occasional off-the-wall Beer, but this is just too weird. Honestly, I wouldn’t mind if they were actually well brewed, but more often than not they show very perceptible faults.
Do I recomend going out of your way to have a drink here? For the atmosphere, sure, but caveat emptor, it’s always a crapshoot with the Beers and that’s unfortunate. But prices are on the cheap side. | | LadySusan (77), Ste-Therese, Quebec | | January 29, 2008 This place is very different no expectations. The staff are pleasant, the service is great. the choices are numeros. You can feel at home here, and if it’s to hot inside to out on the terrace and stay as long as you want it is very comfortable out there. | | TaktikMTL (141), Montréal-Nord, Quebec | | May 3, 2007 Établissement visité le vendredi 27 avril vers 16h30. |
