February 9, 2009 Well located, walking distance from the heart of the touristy Quebec. Ugly but fun little store. Small over-crowded messy display. Probably the best selection in town but the small space and (probably) small backstore means that they only have new beers or beers that do no sell. When I was there they didn’t have many of the products that were available in the good beer stores of Montreal and Trois-Rivières. Staff is really passionate about the beers, a bit too much, every beer was great. They get some mostly-so-so exclusive beers brewed for their store. A nice store but Quebec City lacks a clear winner as far as beer store are concerned. |
June 30, 2008 Very good selection of Quebec’s microbreweries and imported beers.
Au Maitre Brasseur, Dieu du Ciel!, L’Alchimiste, McAuslan, RJ, Les Trois Mousquetaires, St-Arnould (Bieropholie selection too), Boreal, Unibroue, La Barberie etc. Pilsner Urquell, New Castle Brown, Kostritzer, Bass, Guinness,Kilkenny, Smithwick’s, Leffe, Hoegaarden etc. Also a very good selection of non-alcoholic beers.
Selection of beers specialy brewed for the store.
Good prices.
Local and imported beer glasses.
Candies, chips, bottled water, very little grocery store inventary, movies.
In the Old Quebec, one street lower (North) than St-Jean St., and three streets West of Blvd. Honore-Mercier (Carre d’Youville). Closest place to go if you live in the Old Quebec or in the suburbs.
Very well located and very good place to buy beer especially if your a tourist looking for micros. |
