THis place is a gem, nice location. The decor is as nice on the terrasse as indoor, the service was very good, the food was just great. The owner was busy but still took the time to talk to us a bit. I am looking forward to going back again and again.

A nice brew pub with wooded interior. What struck me was the Art Nouveau moldings used in the doors, windows and mirrors, exquisitely carved. Also as the Cabane au Canada touch. Beers are excellent, service courteous and informative. Lunch menu is simple but good: Ham and Cheese sandwich with homemade chips, olives and Alep cheese. Try the beef jerky! Evening menu is based on regional products, like wild game...I’ll have to come back for the ribs.

After visiting many times now, I can safely say this is one of Quebec’s top 5 brewpubs. The weizenbock is a masterpiece, the Germaine helles also, his Morsure American IPA a bouquet of fresh, outgoing hoppiness, the owners (and brewer) are all great people, and the food is simply excellent. This is probably the best all-around beer establishment in the province of Quebec, tied with Microbrasserie Charlevoix’s Saint-Pub restaurant in Baie Saint-Paul.

Tapas are eclectic and chosen with care; we had some Alep cheese (Turkish salty stringettes, sprinkled with caraway seeds) and olives marinated in a herbal, citrusy vinaigrette. The "Côtes Levées du Diable" (the devil’s ribs) were succulent, draped in a homemade BBQ Stout sauce, and even the accompanying salad was carefully conceived, with a few strips of smoked herring(?), blackened peppers, etc. The Quebec artisanal cheese plate looked awesome from what we saw on a nearby table. Obviously, you have to pay for all this care and quality, so prices for the evening meals are in the 20$ a plate range.

Dim lighting, warm colors and a relaxed bistro atmosphere. A main section with the Bar, with a huge window giving a great view of the spanking new, ultra clean brewing equipment. Food was excellent and well presented. My first Beer came, their session Bitter that was a bit watery but had an intersting coffee aroma I wasn’t expecting for this style. The next two Beers also had coffee notes, and the other three had a smoked, cured meat character. I liked the Marzen very much, the Scotch ale was nice but more alcoholic than malty. The other Beers weren’t horrible, I didn’t spot any technical defaults, they just seemed to use similar grain bills for everything, either that of he keeps rotating his Beer lines without cleaning them, so everything ends up smelling like the stout. From what I gathered I don’t think it was a question of dirty lines, I think they brew with whatever they got, style be damned. I’ll have to come back in a few months to confirm. But for a start up, it was pretty good. My overall experience was quite positive, the Beers while not groundbreaking showed good promise for a pub only in business a few months.
