J_man (4), Tustin, California does not count - explanation | | October 27, 2011 Fun brewpub near the beach in Oceanside. All the house brews I tried were very good and they had a great selection of excellent guest beers on tap. Bartenders and waiters were very friendly and fast, great service all around. Menu isn’t extensive, mostly salad, pizza, and sandwiches, but the food was good. I’m not sure how the music was controlled (by the employees or a jukebox somewhere), but at least when I was there it was mostly rock/metal and I loved it! Will definitely stop in for another visit when I’m in Oceanside! | | BeerLimey (113), California | | August 22, 2011 Pretty simple pizza and beer joint. Serves 10 of their own beers on tap as well as a very good selection of guest beers (a couple of crap handles too). Beer is decent with some creative attempts and pizza is pretty good too. Service is simple - you order food at one counter, beer at the bar then go grab your own table. Not as good as pizza port but still worth a look. | | Meilby (25), Kristiansand, Norway | | July 8, 2011 Nice place with great service and prices. They had 12 of their own beers on tap, most of them where pretty boring but there was a couple of decent ones. | | Terminus (233), Las Cruces, New Mexico | | June 22, 2011 visited june 16 2011. I didnt even hear of this place till about a few days before i was to come into the area. Place is similar in feeling to a pizza port, but much bigger. the brewery has about 10-12 of their own beers plus about the same number of guest taps. prices are very good and you cant beat the service. Christina was friendly and very pretty! check it out if you between LA and SD. | | savnac (155), Anchorage, Alaska | | November 21, 2010 Nice location and nice interior set up. We just sat in the bar for some beer. Service pretty much sucked, I sat for 10 minutes while my full glass of Blind Pig sat at the tap until I got the guys attention. I also don’t like it when someone pretends to know about beer, that might work on a average customer but not on a ratebeerian. Good selection of inhouse beers which were not really that good, but a great selection of beers from other breweries. I would go back if I was in Oceanside just because they are the only beer place around. | | Ungstrup (335), Oamaru, New Zealand | | November 17, 2010 Somewhat of a diner feel. A long, not that wide a room with big windowpains facing the streets, making it very light. Brewing equipment close to the entrance on the corner. Easy access either by train or parking in the street. On my second visit we sampled 15 different beers, both own and other brands. I’ll definately come back when I’m in the area again. | | Brewman63 (39), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | | September 24, 2010 Walked to here our first night in Oceanside only to find out they just closed for the night. Went back the next day for lunch. Glad we did. Service at the bar was great. Tried the Nitro DMJ (IPA on nitrogen) which was very good, very drinkable. Had pizza for lunch which was also very good. Would definitely go back if in the area. | | MartinT (469), Montreal, Quebec | | August 4, 2010 Average brewpub with average brews and food in a setting not unlike the Pizza Ports in the area, but with a little less warmth. The brewer had been changed a few weeks before my passing by, so the brews weren’t as impressive as they were supposed to be, but that may change soon enough, I guess. I wouldn’t go out of my way to try this place again, but it is mostly because of the amazing beer spots in SoCounty SDiego. | | BMan1113VR (279), Los Angeles, California | | July 25, 2010 Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon.Nice place. Parking was kind of hard. Crowd was mostly there for the pizza it seemed, as most of the pitchers I heard being ordered were things like Shocktop and Bud Light. I can understand having Bud on for a BMC clientele, but Shocktop? When you brew a perfectly good hefe?! I met the new brewer who was working behind the bar that day. I was taking notes so he chatted me up and I found out some things about the house beers. They have maverick back on but its a 100% different recipe from the one that the former pizza port brewer brewed. The brewer was nice and offered to buy me a pint when he heard that I brewed as well. Pretty nice place, and a good alternative to the pizza ports. I would return. | | Snojerk321 (53), San Diego, California | | July 11, 2010 Went here specifically for Maverick. The Berry Kriek was pretty awesome too. Pretty nice inside, decent service, I just don’t like Oceanside. |
