The crew was busy racking when I came in. I really liked their selection of hardware, which was what I was there for. I found their pricing to be resonable. I only bought a brew spoon, and a secondary carboy. I will be going there for my next few batches. My brewing buddies go to O’Shea’s in Orange County, but I will continue to go to Hydrobrew for better pricing and convenience.

I’m surprized Hydrobrew hasn’t been entered, and that I haven’t rated it yet. I really only know of 4 homebrew shops in San Diego area. I like Ballast point the best (cheapest and biggest selection), but they are furthest from my house. Next I like Hydrobrew. Close to my house in Carlsbad, and very similar prices on hardware, but grains are little more expensive. Ballast point homebrew has the brewery to keep prices down. The staff is very knowledgable, and generous. Free beer samples and even gave me some homemade oak extract! Thanks!
