| SamGamgee (182), down the whirlpool, California | | February 13, 2012 Small bar to the left when you come in the front of the brewery, which is in a business park in Vista. They are doing some interesting beers which will hopefully only get better with time but have been pretty hit or miss so far, especially for the prices they charge for bottles. | vista755 (9), vista, does not count - explanation | | February 11, 2012 I really like this place i live in Vista and this place has a great selection of brews. My favorite hands down is the Iron fist velvet glove, thats a no brainer! | tripelthreat (6), Soquel, California does not count - explanation | | January 21, 2012 Stopped by on a Friday evening after going to Stone. Pretty busy. to see them using local barrels that happen to be from the vineyard/winery that is right next to my parents house. Family helping out all over and were very friendly. 9 or 10 beers available in 4oz., 10 oz. and 16 oz. $5 flights with four 4oz. pours. Bombers for sale. Butcher paper covering one wall of the tasting room area with markers available to add your own art and comments to the existing stuff. Food truck right outside. Small, up and coming brewery feel and we had a good time. | | JohnnyJ (94), San Diego, California | | November 8, 2011 Pretty standard brewery warehouse building. Lots of empty space, some barrels for their aging projects. Nice people, family run. Decent beers, but nothing they make is great. Worth stopping by if you are in the area, but not a destination in and of itself. | | Itzjerm (30), Taft, Tennessee | | August 28, 2011 A pretty awesome place. Family ran, and treated like a family. It was packed out on a Thursday.... but good no great beer. They have food vendor sitting outside, a nice addition. Nice True Brewery tap room feel. Done very nicely. | | BiddleBrau (58), Fort Washington, Pennsylvania | | March 6, 2011 stopped in for some tastings on my last day in SD. Warehouse opened to public, comfortable but not a place to linger too long although we did get there early and left after going through our flight. Would like to see how they are doing in a few years. Also would like to see how their barrel aging goes as they were stacked up right next to our table. | | JohnC (137), Mission Viejo, California | | January 13, 2011 It’s a nice little brewery and tasting room. Brandon and his family were very friendly and enjoyable to chat with. This is definitely a stop if you’re beer geeking in north county S.D.
| | savnac (155), Anchorage, Alaska | | November 21, 2010 Big place very close to Green Flash. Warehouse style with a nice tasting room up front, barrels off to the side and the brewery in the back. One of the owner/brewer kids was pouring, he told us all about the beers and even took us on a mini private tour. Five beers on tap since they had just opened. Beers were pretty good, nothing that really stood out as excellent but they had some more interesting things in the barrels. Prices were good for tasters and decent for beer to go. Overall a cool new place that should only get better. | | BMan1113VR (279), Los Angeles, California | | November 15, 2010 A large brewery in a business park near Green Flash. A huge place that they barely even begin to fill; these guys have a lot of room to grow! Already some barrels going for aging sours and an imperial stout. The crowd was pretty rowdy when I was in there, which could be a one-off experience. Seems like a bit of a family run operation. Very friendly people. Got the sampler flight of all 5 of their beers (for right now) for $4 (I think it was 4, maybe 5). Generous pours on all the samples. The beers were overall pretty good, and I expect them to get better after they go through the expected growing pains (this brewery has only been open for a couple of weeks). All and all a nice visit, and I expect this brewery will do very well in the coming years. |
