Have made some nice finds here, and have been disappointed as well. They sometimes have things hiding in the shadows if you ask. They have some odd old stuff sometimes. I got a bottle that’s too old to be entered into the database from a brewery that closed in the late 90’s, I believe. I stop by to see what they got going on, it’s worth the stop.

Good - even for SD which ALWAYS has good beers! The bar is raised, and this place does not disappoint. Good for brews after hitting O’Briens.

i think you must be talking of somewhere else...the owner is beyond pleasant, socking away new russian rivewrs for me..and as for discounts, i get one every time..now, yes there are dusty bottles, but buyer beware, he has considerabley worked up the place, new stock, and rare as fuck beers, and as for out of date....BELGAINS ARE SUPPOSED TO AGE, YOU MAROONS!!, SO, I GO THERE 2 TIMES A WEEK AND HAVE NEVER BEEN DISAAPOOINTED.., CRAIG

Stopped in real quick about 5 minutes before closing to grab a bottle of Alesmith IPA. They had a nice selection of belgian beers, but the selection of SD locals could have been better. Lots of dust on the bottles including the IPA’s. Prices were OK on some of the local stuff. Worth the stop if you go to O’Briens.

Not a very friendly place. Some old items that I would be afraid to buy. I worry that someone might buy things here and then trade it. Wouldnt be good for the receiver.

Went here to check their selection of Rogue brews. I was hoping they would have the 10,000th but they didn’t, you gotta dream right. Anyway, this place has a great selection of craft brews. There is a shelf in the middle of the place with one side of Belgian style brews, including two of Allagash’s barrel aged brews and the other side of the shelf is mostly west coast brews. They have the best selection of Rogue brews I have seen here in SD county. They carry Lagunitas and Butte Creek and an ok selection of Alesmith. Overall a good stop for some different brews. I think they could use a better selection of SD stuff. No Green Flash, Stone selection is standard, etc. Also, as the tour guide comment states some of the brews have been there a while.

Biggest selection that I’ve seen south of Holiday Wine Cellar. Lots of local, Belgian (some I’ve never seen before), standard to substandard German selection. You certainly want to select carefully due to the overpricing and shelf life issues. Do your homework and you may score.

I been going to this place for the last 2 years, but it seems they never get any new stuff in. Almost anything outside the cooler is very old and in poor condition, although, they do have a nice selection of Rogue ales and imports from Belgium and other Euro countries. Prices are very high and there is no way your going to get a discount on any old dusty beers because the owner is very stubborn and thinks your coming up on him.

Third best selection for beer in San Diego (after Holiday Wine Cellar and South Bay Drugs). It’s conveniently located close to Obriens, and great asian restaurants, if you want to kill several birds with one stone, without spending more gas money. That being said, they seem to be a little overpriced. Staff doesn’t seem to care, and the place is a little ghetto.

I finally made it to this place. Big selection of Belgians and decent mix of German beers. Good selection of micros, including several Rogues that are hard to find. Prices can be average to outrageous. I saw an Allagash 2007 limited release for $20. There are a fair amount of dusty ones on the shelves. I think someone said it before, but the 8-Ball Stout with the old label is still on the shelf. What has it been, 5 years?
