| GT2 (196), Washington DC | | February 22, 2012 The smallest of the Pizza Ports and also the original. I loved the vibe here- similar laid back family casual dining atmosphere with a brewpub mixed in. Lots of kids and families and beer loving adults. The 40 year old woman in front of me in line scarily knew a lot about beer. Service was super friendly. The beers here were a little lacking compared to the other Pizza Ports not in quantity but in house beer quality. A few were quite good and even GABF medal winners. One homebrewed competition winner beer was a drain pour. But you get $1 flights of 4 at a time, which is a steal. $5 pints of almost everything else! Excellent guest taps. I mean, all the Pizza Ports are like dreams come true: awesome beer, awesome pizza, awesome prices, awesome atmosphere, awesome location. A world class model. | | SamGamgee (182), down the whirlpool, California | | February 13, 2012 The smallest of the Pizza Ports and probably the least exciting beer selection these days, though still very high quality. What I love about this one is the location right on PCH and the small patio out front. Chilling outside on a warm afternoon with a couple pints and some beer buddies is a great time. Who cares if there are a dozen soccer kids running around inside? | | GlenVargas (14), Arizona | | January 16, 2012 I visited Pizza Port - Solana Beach a few times in the past, and I thought I rated it right after the first trip. Guess not. I must’ve held off on rating the place because it seems to be the San Diego area’s go-to brewpub destination and I guess I didn’t feel a need to weigh in. The beer and food here are spectacular, and Pizza Port’s popularity is well-deserved. However, that popularity also brings a lot of squares, douches, and families to the place, which makes finding a seat a danged nightmare most of the time. The GF and I were here on the night of the Holiday Bowl, and the crowd really ruined the experience for us. I’d love to hit Pizza Port on an off night to kick back and actually enjoy its awesome tap selection. | | chris2431 (11), Oregon | | January 3, 2012 Often crowded due to it’s small size and faithful following. I like the fact that you order beer and pizza from 2 different counters....speeds things up if your just in for beer. Most of the PP brew is pretty solid and so is the pizza. | | BMan1113VR (279), Los Angeles, California | | October 31, 2011 Small and crowded but the original. Pizza and waitstaff are typical. Beers are Pizza Port (which is solid across all locations). A bit crowded and quirky compared to the others. Not as nice of an atmosphere as San Clemente (probably the best ambiance of the 4). They seem to have quite a few less taps than the other locations. Parking is a bit tight. A great stop if you are in the Del Mar area. | | fiver29 (48), Cleveland, Ohio | | September 2, 2011 This was my 2nd favorite Pizza Port out of the 4 in town. Smaller open space with a small patio relative to the other PP’s. Same layout as the others. One line for food and the other for beer. This place has a great tap list for brewed beers on site and a great guest tap list as well that rotates often.
The crowd is locals coming in for a good pizza and beer dinner. Pizza is great and so is the beer here. A mix of PP beer and guest taps. Great vibe and is probably the smallest of the PP places we visited. Overall a great value and a place I’d like to visit again someday. | | Canyon24 (10), Altadena, California | | July 12, 2011 Their Poor Man’s IPA is one of the better beers I have tasted. Pizza joint but beer is obviously their strong suit and clear focus | | Terminus (233), Las Cruces, New Mexico | | June 25, 2011 Small as hell location, especially on a packed friday night. HOwever, i was by myself and just sat at the little "bar" if you want to call it a bar. Had some decent taps of their own stuff as well as guests. food was tasty and there was this hot as hell blonde with tattoos who i just stared at the entire time while i enjoyed my beers. Im glad to have been able to go to this location, but i will proably not go back. | | BeerLimey (113), California | | May 25, 2011 One of my favorite speciality beer hangouts. There’s always a good selection of rotating house taps (and just in case you’re new to this pizza port is among on of the best brewers in the country) as well as some original local guest beers. Pizza is great, service and ambience are surfer casual. Patios a bit tiny for a beach town but a must visit for any beer or pizza fan. | | heyespeed (11), , | | February 28, 2011 The staff, patrons and location make me feel like I am stuck in fast Times at Ridgemont High, but being a stone’s throw from the beach what do you want.
That being said there beers are bad ass, right across the board. Shark attack being my absolute favorite followed by the Hasselhoff Weizenbock. It’s been a bit since I’ve had the pleasure but when i find myself in so-cal this is a must stop for me.
Oh yeah their guest beers are always on point too, I love when brew pubs have the sack to serve stuff from other breweries.
Pizza is what it is, it fills me up so I can keep on drinking! |
