| chris2431 (11), Oregon | | December 31, 2011 Nice neighborhood bar. Maybe not in the best neighborhood but whatever....kind of a tweener area. Great place to have a beer and better place to eat. The spicy gumbo is phenomenal! | | JJSuds (26), Illinois | | March 2, 2011 Wonderfully charming bar with tidy selection of taps. Restaurant also a very nice experience. | | Travlr (637), Washington, Washington DC | | January 17, 2011 Small place, very nice food. 11 taps, but 4 had kicked and were not replaced (why not?). Bottle list was small but decent. With Toronado just down the street, I would choose that. | | mkade8883 (28), Chicago, Illinois | | July 19, 2010 Came around 11 just before close on a Friday night. Weren’t too many people there, but it was a pretty chill vibe. Decent beer selection, though I wish the beer fridges they had would have been proper temperature so my Consecration bottle wouldn’t have come out practically frozen. Overall seemed like a good place. | | DeadGirl (76), La Jolla, California | | March 2, 2010 Went on an early Sunday evening and had an excellent time. We sat at the bar, and the male bartender that day was one of the friendliest I’ve come across. There aren’t many beers on tap, but when I was there all were new to me. But take that with a grain of salt because I’m relatively new to the west coast. Anyway, I had a Bruery Melange No. Sechs, and a Green Flash 30th Street - both of which have less than 35 ratings! For that I say the selection is fantastic! And the food menu looks awesome, though I didn’t have any. A little pricey, but that’s okay. Many vegetarian options in a simple one page menu. I’ll definitely come back to try their Vegan Shepherd’s Pie. We sat next to a couple that also loved beer and had some really great conversations about San Diego and Stone Brewery. I had a great time. Overall: The people are nice (servers and customers), the beer selection is solid, the place is clean, and the food looks good. Return: Yes. #47 on 02032010, DG. | | kwoeltje (71), Manchester, Missouri | | March 28, 2009 Not too busy when we went. Ambiance of a nice restaurant. Not a huge beer selection but they had a nice diversity, and a cask ale available. Very helpful and friendly waiter. Food was good. Prices in line with SoCal. I’d go there again. | | ajm (191), Los Angeles, California | | February 10, 2009 Not my first choice in SD. Few taps, and when I went the offerings were stuff I could get anywhere in the western US. Food is nice. I respect this place as a small business, but when last call is at 1130 and they won’t serve you at 1128 because they’re "on bar time," someone’s got their head in the wrong place. | | badlizard (109), San Diego, California | | December 30, 2008 Cozy, cute, and enjoyable. Decent selection of beer and the food was quite good, if a little over priced. A great place to take a date. | | nbutler11 (226), Phoenix, Arizona | | November 20, 2008 Great atmosphere and upscale food with a respectable tap list. Enjoyed some AleSmith IPA on tap with a cheese plate, a shephards pie, and a Nut Brown shake for dessert if that tells you anything. Certainly worth a visit. | | illinismitty (275), Nashville, Tennessee | | September 17, 2008 From the outside, this has a very nice small European cafe and garden vibe. Inside is small but cozy, with white tablecloths. Nice beer list to pair with a gourmet/ English pub fare fusion menu. Prices are not cheap, but not ridiculous either. I paid $5 for a pint of Alesmith Nut Brown, and $15 for a Grilled Portobello Sandwich. Service was good considering we had a large group (RBSG) |
