Great local brewer. Required brews are fine, with the IPA being a stand-out. The optional brews are excellent. Bourbon barrel aged stout, brown ale casked with espresso, rum chipped porter, etc. If I lived closer, I’d be a regular.

Your basic RB, nothing to really distinguish it from the others. We were there for a beer dinner. All of the beers we tried were good but not outstanding. Food was served buffet style...pizza and pasta. Pasta was okay, pizza was very good but ran out quickly. All around good but not outstanding.

Good food; mac n cheese and french dip sandwich are fun and quick. Not inexpensive for what it is though ($45ish for an entree, 2 beers and half an appetizer split with a friend). Had bad luck that we had a terrible waiter but I don’t hold that against the restaurant. Beer was good, especially for a chain restaurant. Had sports on tv and a packed bar on a Wednesday night which is exactly what I like in a place. Overall a B to B+ kind of place.

Service was ok. The food was actually not that bad. The beers are hit and miss, but the selection is decent. Fresh cask of their Espresso stout was pretty good. I mean, its no speedway, but still enjoyed it :)

Good beers and great food. Service was great. The four of us had different varities of food and everyone thought it was excellent.

The place is very nice, great bar, terrace and restaurant areas. The beer selection is mostly in house brews but difficult to navigate as the menu is flimsy, prices are a secret and happy hour specials a highly classifies (at least our waiter was not aware). The food we have was GREAT! Beer just OK.

This is a really run-of-the-mill chain brewery that, in my opinion, doesn’t have much going for it. My biggest complaints are the beer and the location. The beer ranges from average to poor. To their credit, I’ve never tasted a truly terrible beer from Rock Bottom, but I think that’s because their beers tend to be on the bland side. The location? I suppose it’s good to have some place like this within walking distance of the University, but it’s not like anyone actually walks here anyway, due to the horrible car-oriented design of the entire neighborhood. My opinion? Two thumbs down. There are so many great breweries and bars around San Diego: don’t waste your time here, and don’t waste your time in this neighborhood either.

Average chain brewery feel. Average food and service, though the waiter called thier black lager a "stout." The beer was a little below average overall. I probably won’t be back.

Nice place inside and out. The selection was pretty good with four regular beers, two dark rotating beers instead of the required (by the franchise) one, plus four extras. Beer was not bad really. The food attempted to be better than the average pub fare. Maybe it was, ours tended to be oversalted, maybe just a bad day? The appitizer was yummy though: Beer bread and asiago cheese dip. Best part of the meal... well, along with the beer... I mean the fact that I was able to try 7 new beers anyway.

This place is great. Got there about 4:15 with the family on St. Patties Day. The dinning room was empty, but the bar area was packed with 20 somethings getting an early start. Service was great. The food was even better (a little pricey). Had buffalo for the first time. Good stuff. Tried the beer sampler (7 or 8 beers). Black lager, real good. Even bought a growler of it for $7.95 filled. Can’t bet that. When we left, there were about 20 people waiting to be seated. Bring some money, but it’s worth the stop.
