| SamGamgee (182), down the whirlpool, California | | February 13, 2012 Brewpub that feels like a chain family restaurant that happens to have a pretty good guest tap selection. House beers tend to be buttery and not worth it in the local market. They’re still kickin’ though, so something is going right. | | Terminus (233), Las Cruces, New Mexico | | July 20, 2011 A very good place to go-50 taps, a couple casks and VERY tasty food (pork quesadilla was amazing!). have about 9 of their own beers and the rest are local or regional favorates. The watress i had was hot and very friendly. a very cool place! | | gsmitty80 (153), Washington DC | | June 25, 2011 Located in a strip mall, the place had alot of seating in the front and a small sized bar. The girl behind the counter was absolutely terrible. It was the worst service I have ever experienced at any brewpub. I hope she was just having a bad day or she is going to die very young. The house beers were surprisingly good and they had a nice selection of other local beers. Food was standard and pretty well priced. I would go back only if I had a different bartender. | | ghawener (53), San Salvador, El Salvador | | January 6, 2011 Standard Brewpub/Restaurant. Place was almost empty when we went. Beer selection and house beer is great. Food is basic. | | Ungstrup (335), Oamaru, New Zealand | | November 8, 2010 On the outskirts of SD - in my opinion, but hey, I’m European. A cozy though pretty standard brewpub. But we got extremely great service - if I have to come with one drawback - we hardly had any time to take notes on the beers that we got. Got eight ticks here - but we had to leave to catch a motel in downtown SD. I will come back. | | JohnnyJ (94), San Diego, California | | October 17, 2010 Typical brewpub atmosphere, lots of taps, with a fairly good selection, nothing that rare though. House beers are okay, the food was pretty good. Standard pricing on the beer, but the food was a little pricey. | | Phischy (57), California | | March 11, 2010 Pretty typical brewpub. Few great beers such as Hopnotic and the coffee porter which name escapes me. Def have been stepping it up in the last few years plus rotating taps.
Within spitting distance of Kaiser hospital in case you want a new liver.
Food is average, not a big regular there as it’s outside of my stomping grounds but if I’m out east on the Ocho, I know where to go! | | Lagunitasfan (30), San Diego, California | | March 7, 2010 Great rotating selection of beers. Multiple hand pumped casks. 6-8 of their own brews, and they’ve ranged from poor to great. Better rhan the average brewpub IMO. Great burgers, sandwiches, and fries. | | DeadGirl (76), La Jolla, California | | March 2, 2010 Visited for the second time on Pliny the Younger night. We got here an hour earlier than when Younger was supposed to be tapped. We didn’t need to, it wasn’t as crowded as we thought it was going to be. Nonetheless, we got the two best seats at the bar- right in front of that beautiful tap! And I really hope the owner reads this - the bartender that night did an amazing job. The bar stand is "L" shaped and looong and he was the only bartender that night. And I never had an empty glass on me. nor did anybody else in the establishment. That guy was good. Other notable brews I’ve had here are Bear Republic Red Rocket Ale, San Diego Brewing Hopnotic, Port Brewing Hop 15, and many more. The place is clean, the food is ok. Actually the only disappointment I have is the nachos. You gotta come up with a better set of nachos, dude! They were way too plan simple for me to order again. But I’m really particular about my nachos. I wish there were more vegetarian options, too. But overall: Relatively clean place, as nice as waitstaff can get, great beer selection, and just a good happy hour spot. Return: Yes. #48 on 02032010, DG. | | blickta (10), California | | January 11, 2010 This is a family favorite. Great place for beer lovers who also happen to have kids. Roughly 50 taps serving up some great brews. Food is typical bresery food but still very good. Bar area is geared for sports and can get crowded. Sometimes too loud as the bar noise bleeds into the restaurant area. |
