| OldGrowth (132), North Carolina | | April 22, 2012 4/22 visit. Big space30 or so person bar. Another dozen tables, most seat 4 few seat more. Few booths too. Industrial is how I call it. Service is fine today. Not good bar type service. More touristy. Big west coast san Diego area selection . Lacking in the worldly sence. Food , ok, not gourmet . Hummas was bland needed more tahini and garlic.. pizza good. Not great. Fine for what it is . Not best area has to offer, not worst. | | Serendipitiai (10), California | | March 10, 2012 Great and extensive local brew selection. Casual beachy sports pub atmosphere, food and service is so so, but if your looking to try a few local brews this is the place to do it. | | SamGamgee (182), down the whirlpool, California | | February 13, 2012 Very PB sports-bar type feel with a huge beer list that is mostly all the regulars from local breweries. A cool concept, I think. I like how local their focus is. Doesn’t quite reach the top tier of SD bars, but very good for PB. | | Goodgrief (27), Middletown, Delaware | | April 17, 2011 What a great place. A kijillion tap options representing the best of San Diego and also some out of the area options. Delicious pizza and burgers and friendly (and attractive) servers. Good lunch specials, a lot of seating. A website with live tap listings with levels in the tap...and on-deck taps (for that alone, it gets extra points). You know what you’re getting when you go there. It’s really a great place. | | nbutler11 (226), Phoenix, Arizona | | January 15, 2011 Great spot with lots of character. Pricey, but they had a ton of local things on tap and the service was very helpful. I didn’t get to try the food, but everything that came out of the kitchen looked great. I will definitely be back. | | Travlr (637), Washington, Washington DC | | January 15, 2011 Medium sized place that was quiet on a Friday at lunchtime, quiet enough for the owner and staff to spend a huge amount of time with us explaining the beers, and how they get their hands on them. Comprehensive selection of local stuff, most of which I can’t get on the east coast. A great first stop on our beer tour of San Diego. | JW32Hoops (1), San Diego, California does not count - explanation | | May 12, 2010 Tap Room is the best bar in PB, hands down. If you’re a beer geek, there is no other place that even compares in PB. Tap selection always features the best local brews, but keeps a good rotation. Their website continually updates everything they’ve got and the level to which the kegs are full, so you can see what’s on deck.

The food is bomb, the waitresses and bartenders are all super nice, knowledgable about beer and the music they play there is better than most bars in PB for sure. Tap Room rules. | | DeadGirl (76), La Jolla, California | | April 21, 2010 Came here twice- the first time I scored a bottle of Ken Schmidt Maui Stone Kona Coffee Macadamia Coconut Porter, second time I scored a Firestone Walker 12. Pretty good beers on tap, better bottle selection albeit pricey. Long winding bar seating, good pizza, busy, really friendly bar staff. At the end of the night we received a locals discount just for living in San Diego. | | italianjohn (127), Penndel, Pennsylvania | | April 15, 2010 A crazy environment was there on a saturday night and it was packed wall to wall ..... a huge bar with over 40 taps all around the inside ... it took forever to order because of the crowd and I did not eat here ..... if you go downstairs to the bathroom you walk by the huge cooler with all the kegs and lines ... tons of young people and a good place to drink some rare brews, but I would go when its less crowded for sure!! | | Lagunitasfan (30), San Diego, California | | March 10, 2010 If you’re over 25, the only reason to go here is the beer. Sterile environment. Like a McDonald’s. Annoying drunk frat types and MMA tools. Music really loud for no good reason. Tall tables and tall booths abound. However, the beer selection was very nice. Nothing remarkable, but it’s nice to see things like Panzer on tap. I’d go back, but not on a Friday or Saturday night. |
