10 reviews for Blue Ridge Brewing Company
| tronraner (100), Seymour, Tennessee | | September 8, 2009 The best part is the outdoor seating. It’s kind of cozy to sit along the downtown street and sip a few beers, especially on a comfortable autumn day. I sampled the beers and had some onion rings; both were pleasing. They have homemade mustard and ketchup to accompany the food, which is definitely a nice touch. I would stop here again if I find myself nearby for some reason. | | changeup45 (46), Orlando, Florida | | June 6, 2009 Visited 11/13/08. Had lunch here while in the area on business. Nice place. Six beers were on tap. All the beers I tried were solid, I’d say ranging from slightly above average to good. The Ball & Chain IPA and Colonel Pale were my two favorites. Food was pretty good, nothing outstanding, typical pub food but I’m fine with that. Good service. I went on a Wednesday afternoon and it wasn’t very busy so can’t comment on the night scene. | | CoachJT (14), Columbia, South Carolina | | October 23, 2008 The food is great here. The service has always been well above average when I’ve been in, my only complaint is that the beer selection is somewhat limited and they tend to run out quickly of the more popular items. | | timsilvia32 (37), from Michigan now in Charlotte, North Carolina | | October 5, 2008 It is in a nice part of downtown Greenville, but the nightlife really has seemed to be killed off by the smoking ordinance. Anyway, the brewing company itself had a nice rustic woody interior. Nice enough place to have a brew, but the beers are purely average and the service seems to be real hit or miss. Customer service was not a priority, but I find that to be the case more often than not down here in the south. I’m still trying to figure out the Southern hospitality thing. Must be at their homes, because it certainly is not at their places of work. | | NYHarvey (124), New York, New York | | February 22, 2008 On the main strip downtown. They had practically none of their beers available when I was there. No IPA, no brown ale, no stout, no porter. I felt like saying, Just give me a Bud. A little dingy, but not overly so. The bartender seemed a bit surly and I generally don’t give a shit about my servers mood, but he seemed like he wanted to arm wrestle me for the right to talk to him. The beer isn’t worth the hassle of the trip from the interstate we took and the guy at the bar probably can’t arm wrestle for shit. Do what I didn’t and skip it. | walter (7), Staunton, Virginia does not count - explanation | | September 26, 2007 Pretty cool interior, fermenters right inside the door, long bar, booths, and some tables. Only had one beer with lunch, and sampled my wife’s, and they were pretty bad. Two or three styles listed on the menu weren’t available. Great service, and great food-- typical pub grub, but real tasty. The highlight for me was the homemade ketchup-- really good! | SJM620 (5), Tennessee does not count - explanation | | May 15, 2007 Visited with my inlaws. Beer was decent, nothing special it seemed. The alt they had at the time was pretty good. Best for the atmosphere and happy hour. | | PorterPounder (180), Tallahassee, Florida | | June 20, 2006 Visited here in June of ’06 late on a Friday night and the place was jumping. Loud, smoky and rowdy - hard to find a spot at the bar. Had five on tap that appear to be pretty regular - perhaps one was rotating. The three I had were average brewpub quality - the stout being the best. Appreciate them having a late night menu - serve food until 1:00. I had pizza - pretty decent. Definitely not a beer geeks paradise that experiments with a lot of funky styles - but one thing I did notice and appreciate was the fact that everyone who was drinking beer (they served liquor as well) was ordering the beer with no qualms - i.e. - none of those - "oh, you don’t have Bud Light - I’ll have a rum and coke instead" types. Located in a neat little downtown area of Greenville surrounded by other bars and restaurants. | | NachlamSie (209), Tennessee | | January 31, 2006 The brewpub is pretty homey. It’s one large room with plenty of tasteful beer decor and a rustic feel. The food was average, though quite tasty, pub fare. The beer is nothing extraoridinary, but does warrant at least one trip to the place to check it out. | | harpus (40), birmingham, Alabama | | August 9, 2005 The beer was not that good. The bar area itself is very interesting and worth seeing. |
