35 reviews for Boscos Hillsboro Village Nashville
| curly (12), Nashville, Tennessee | | January 7, 2010 To me Bosco’s is Nashville’s worst Brewery, the beer isn’t all terrible but for the most part it is bland. It is cool how they agew some of their specialty beers but then they sell them for about 8 bucks a bottle. | | phaleslu (96), Cincinnati, Ohio | | October 19, 2009 My girlfriend and I visited Bosco’s for dinner and beers on a Saturday night during what happened to be a busy homecoming weekend for Vanderbilt in Nashville. We liked the Hillsboro Village area and this is a perfect location for a brewpub. Bosco’s had its four year-round taps and a few seasonals. They have one cask but only on weeknights, which I didn’t understand. We were both disappointed with the beers, but the food was pretty good. We sat up front by the window, but the place goes pretty far back and has high ceilings and a ton of tables but still seemed full. I was hoping to get a sampler but those were not an option that Saturday night either, and we didn’t get a good explanation why. I had higher hopes based on the ratings I’d read prior to visiting, so I was a little disappointed with the selection, service, and beers themselves. Still, some of these could have just been bad luck on the night we visited and Bosco’s here or at one of the other 3 Tennessee locations might warrant a second try. | BeerBaby (7), , Tennessee does not count - explanation | | September 24, 2009 Nice place. Kind of a college town pub. Beers were pretty good. Food was very good. You are able to get samplers, which is great! | | lithy (103), Knoxville, Tennessee | | April 2, 2009 Cool building, we had an excellent brunch on a Sunday morning to some mellow jazz vocalist and then moved on to beer. The beer itself is fairly decent fare, nothing spectacular. They do have the occasional unlabled bottle of something that may not be on tap that my waitress was kind enough to go dig out for me. | | Butters (151), Virginia | | December 16, 2008 I liked the hip vandy neighborhood where this is located, even though parking is difficult. Nice tall ceilings made this place feel more spacious than it actually was. The bartender was fast and knowledgeable. The food looked and smelled good even though I didnt actually eat there myself. But the beers range from average to downright bad. I will give them credit for always trying new recipes and creative seasonals, but they just seem to miss the mark more often than not. | | nqualls (35), Nashville, Tennessee | | August 25, 2008 Love this place. During the week you can get cask conditioned beers every night. Bottle conditioned beers as well. Regularly over 10 beers available. 7-8 beers on draft and 2-3 in bottles. The food is great, though a little pricey. I would recommend the pizza. | | beckstein (10), | | May 12, 2008 I heard a lot about this place while on a business trip. I’m new to the US and it’s hard to find good beer. Maybe, it’s just hard to find beer where I’m living. This place has good beer. The food’s not bad either! Service was great. | | travita (14), Frisco, Texas | | May 8, 2008 Right near the Vandy campus. Parking is tight but aviable behind the building. Food was very good. I had the beer sampler and all were at least decent. Pretty good to try 8 beers for 8 bucks. I will come back next time in town on business. | | CaptBier (19), Birmingham, Alabama | | May 1, 2008 This was the first stop on Beer tour 08. Food was great. Service was great. Just the standards on tap, but after a while they were talked into ’going in the back’ to see what was conditioning in the bottle. Great place. | | Philip (64), Illinois | | November 12, 2007 AMBIANCE: On the more upscale side, both in terms of the crowd and the decor. Live music was a nice touch. Copper brewkettles above well done. SERVICE: No complaints. Prompt SELECTION: They make some solid but not sensational beers. The special Rye-Not was the highlight of the day FOOD: We were there for Sunday brunch, so the menu was a bit atypical. My chicken andouille has was good, although a bit bland. My wife’s burger was okay a frozen patty cooked far above medium rare, although the parmesan garlic fries were pleasant. We were hoping for the wood oven pizzas, which were not available for Sunday brunch. OVERALL: There’s lots of good places to eat in Nashville. I’d be tempted to return simply to support the craft beer scene, but not for much else.
