This is a nice, rather small place in Baltimore that does 3 10oz beers for $5 during Happy Hour. This includes nearly all their tap selections, and there is "no crap on tap" here; they relegate that to bottles. The taps were mostly Maryland brewers, though there were others. I highly recommend the crab dip and buffalo wings. This place could become my regular watering hole.

Just around the corner off the street, you can have there a quick good burger to eat with a fine small selection off draft and bottle beer. Just a very good neighborhood pub.

Great bar. Go here if you’re in the area. At least 15 taps of amazing beers and better than average bar food. Also very knowledgeable bartenders who provide friendly service. I would gush more about how great this bar is but just go. 3 10oz beer for 5 dollars everyday during extended happy hour.

Since this place isn’t in Fells Point or Mount Vernon, it doesn’t attract the college crowd. Instead you get a friendly neighborhood crowd. Atmosphere is pretty laid back. Selection is pretty decent and comprises many high quality brews. They have a rotating schedule so it’s wise to check their website because they get some gems from time to time. The owner seems to take his beer very seriously. Prices are about where they should be. This is the place to go if you want to avoid the zoo at Max’s or Brewer’s Art.

Small place with a great vibe. Friendliest and most welcoming local beer lovers I have ever met, some of whom even chipped in to serve when the place got busy. Food was classy pub fare, good stuff. Beer list was big enough, and obviously put together by a guy who cares a lot about beers. Definitely worth going out of your way to visit - if I ever move to Baltimore, I want to live in this neighborhood and be part of the scene!

Visited with Travlr. Nice cozy 2 room bar with plenty of the locals hanging around. The staff is friendly, if not constantly busy. Music is not too loud - a plus in my book.

Dude, seriously, you’d be crazy not to visit this place when in Baldimur. I’m proud to be from Maryland, and I love Baltimore! I used the GPS on my iPhone to get me here after leaving Max’s on a too crowded Sat. night. There is no sign for this place(at least not that I saw) so it just added to the local neighborhood feel. VERY friendly bartender and knowledgeable too! Don’t remember what I had, but I was not left wanting. DO IT!

Kind of an ideal neighborhood bar. The guys werer middle aged plus, the music a little too rock for them or anywhere. Around for 5 years, and Babe Ruth’s reincarnation at the bar. COmpetitive 3 pints for $5. About a dozen taps, mostly craft with a decent assortment. ABelgium, a stout, a Rogue. I was amused. Fresh beer, perfect pours. Nothing to blow me away, but a large friendly bar, home away from home in a rvived port area.

Ended up here after Max’s Belgian Beerfest 2008. Made it in time to still be within Happy Hour. What an awesome deal, I got 3 drafts for $4. I got a Troegs Nugget Nectar, Brewers Art Resurection & a Victory Hop Wallop all for $4. I was impressed by the selection. The food was really good to. I’d definitely like to go back and would definitely recommend this place.

I end up at Mahaffey’s a lot. The beer selection, the excellent food, the events, there are many reasons to stop by for a drink. The beer list often leans toward east coast microbrews, complimented by many imports from Belgium and other parts of Europe. The selection includes about 12 taps, a beer engine and about 80+ bottles. The drafts also rotate weekly, and countertop firkin casks appear occasionally. Wayne, the owner, is always present. After a few months of visiting Mahaffey’s regularly, you’ll have sampled more microbrews, real ale, and more Belgian beers than you could have at practically any other bar. Thre is also a beer club, and you can track your progress, beer by beer, on the website. The food at Mahaffey’s is excellent. There’s a great list of specials most nights in addition to the regular menu of upscale pub food. The four-course meals prepared for the beer tasting events are fantastic. I’ve never seen a better deal anywhere than the beer tasting events which are routinely put on at Mahaffey’s. You are always given a dozen or more generous samples with a superb paired meal, and depending on the theme, the guest could be Hugh Sisson from Clipper City, or Rudi Ghequire from Rodenbach. The beer tasting crowd is always a fun bunch. Mahaffey’s has become my favorite beer bar in Baltimore. If you like beer, you really have to check it out for yourself.
