| auerbrau (232), Peace Dale, Rhode Island | | February 28, 2012 Made a pilgrimage out here from midtown for some "local" barbeque. The brisket and beef ribs melted my soul, melted in my mouth, and melted my brain. The beer selection here is not notable and worth going out of the way for. What is worth going out your way for is this fucking delicious meat paired with appropriate fresh draft beers in an a completely hipster environment. That’s worth every penny and every mile. And I’m looking forward to the next time I have the opportunity. | | BMan1113VR (279), Los Angeles, California | | January 9, 2012 Great little stop across the street from Spuyten Duyvil. I’d rather go here. Amazing aroma as soon as you walk in the door of delicious BBQ. Food is great, service is nice. Only 6 or so beer taps, but a pretty decent selection at that. Amazingly good bourbon collection though. If I lived around Fette Sau, I’d be there often, mostly for bourbon and bbq. | | Lubiere (349), Ottawa, Ontario | | December 30, 2011 I loved this place. A honky tonk BBQ place slash pastrami slash beer bar. Expect line ups if you arrive after 5 pm. The food is excellent, especially the brisket (close to Montreal smoked meat) and the pork belly, charred to perfection. Food is rather pricey. They have 10 taps of micro offerings (all local) served in full and half pints (or should I say, mason jars) for 6 and 3$, very decent (you can even have growlers for take out). Come with a big appetite. | | watson1977 (55), The dub c, Pennsylvania | | November 22, 2011 Stumbled upon this place on a recent NYC trip just looking for good bbq. I was pleasantly suprised with not only some of the best bbq that money can buy but also a nice little selection of local/regional drafts at great prices. I had a half gallon of captain lawrence liqiuid gold with my dinner! Communal seating and dim lighting combined with a cramped space deem this a less than fancy atmosphere for sure but the food and beer are great. Service was fairly fast and definitely friendly...prices were very fair. | | RyanBflo (20), New York | | November 16, 2011 Cool vibe and awesome food but the bourbon list is the main feature here, not the beer so it’s hard for me to give it a great rating. I will definitely return though. | | MrChopin (89), Baltimore, Maryland | | November 9, 2011 Pretty mediocre selection, which makes this difficult to rate: the food is incredible, the atmosphere simple with the benches, though they do get crammed during busy hours. Amicable service, generous portions. I’d eat here all the time, not sure I’d ever drink here. | | tderoeck (93), Gent, Belgium | | October 27, 2011 Hidden gem, our Brooklyn friend took us to. My first encounter with southern style BBQ. I simply love the food and how you can order anything by the pound (or quarter pound for that matter). Then I was even more surprised to find a draft list of 9 beers. All of them unfamiliar to me, but those we tried were all amazing. Funny how they serve them in jars instead of glasses. The place feels very authentic and is a huge success, given the line we saw on our way out (lucky we were early). If I lived in NYC, I’d be dining here at least once a month if not every week. Authentic food, great beer, lovely atmosphere and I bet at the long tables where you just go sitting next to other people, lots of new friendships are born. Thanks to Suzy for taking us here! | | F_radar (30), Paris. Fireplace DVD on table. 9 taps. All locals. Food must be good but it was already past 11 pm so it wasn’t served anymore. OK prices. Good selection of whiskeys as well. Beer served on pickle jars. Latin music. Good beer, intoxicating smoked ham aroma, fireplace DVD and Latin music all put together made in quite an incredible experience. | | Beergirl65 (16), Pottersville, New Jersey | | July 7, 2011 A great place. Good beer and pork products...need I say more? |
