| DuffMan (185), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta | | May 23, 2012 We hit this brewpub after a fantastic meal at Girl and The Goat (it’s right across the street). Very spacious but with a comfortable vibe. Broad slice of social life as the crowd, everyone cool, having a chilled out good time. High quality beers with a large tap selection that apparently rotates with high frequency. Didn’t try the food. Definitely would come again! | | Sammy (408), Toronto, Ontario | | May 9, 2012 The Haymarket is an absolute stop if you are in the area, anywhere near downtown. They are brewing up a storm, with about a dozen beers on tap, so I had to be selective. Their bottle selection was decent too. Very attractive environment inside, huge bar, very good service. They were brewing some unusual styles here, hoppy Belgians and the like. | | AWISLguy (35), Wisconsin | | May 3, 2012 Half a block off the freeway on the north side of the Loop, with some parking. 30 taps; half theirs and half guest. Decent selection, including a good sized bottle list. Long bar area with restaurant in 2nd half of building - street beer garden open too. Some personality, some sports bar. | | deyholla (90), Waukesha, Wisconsin | | April 27, 2012 Another solid Chicago brewpub. Nice ambiance even if it does get quite rambunctious in the evenings. Beer is solid and rotates frequently with a few nice guest taps. Food is good as well and prices are fine for Chicago. Sample sizes available on each beer. Definitely worth a stop. | | jeremytoni (110), Swedesboro, New Jersey | | March 31, 2012 Decent selection of their beers, at a pretty good price. Different size pours so that you can sample a lot. | | Newk (24), , | | March 23, 2012 Haymarket is a pretty fun place to come to. It’s big and has 3 different areas. I have yet to go to the back bar as I’m usually able to find a seat or get a beer fine in the main area.
The bar itself is set up very well with good space and a good amount of seats. There are also a couple of tables in the immediate bar area. There is a main dining room where the majority of seating is.
The selection and quality across the board is pretty strong. Haymarket’s own brews are good, but haymarket also does a great job at having a lot of guest taps as well. Their bottle selection is also extremely good, but with all of the tap options I’ve yet to really dig into the bottle list
The food has been very good for me as well. The brats are tremendous and the mac n cheese is also really good too. The service can be a bit variable though. Sometimes it’s great, other times not so much. | | bmerz (61), New York | | March 12, 2012 Very nice list and great bar service. The one time I visited from out of town. It’s a pretty conventional brew pub but with the added bonus of having a solid list of guest taps and bottles. The food was also pretty standard pub grub. Comfortable and easy if you are downtown. | chanokokoro (2), Illinois does not count - explanation | | February 4, 2012 Haymarket is great. Love the staff and Pete Crowley is a fantastic brewmaster. Their brews are always top notch. The food is great and a good value, however the menu could use a bit more variety. The best addition to the neighborhood last year! Definitely visit if in Chicago. | | Tmoney99 (332), Cincinnati, Ohio | | January 9, 2012 Easy to find location on corner with street parking, best to go by cab. Went to the bar on the right of building with a rough wood interior and tables and brewing equipment at the back. Got to sample all brews and a glass of water included. Good selection of brews of their own and good gust taps that are above average. Service is timely and attentive, with good knowledge of beers. Good bar food. Second time here and I will return when in city. | | wedgie9 (31), Nashville, Tennessee | | December 27, 2011 Haymarket is a very cool brewpub with decent food. They always have several of their own beers and several guest drafts, and I love that they have a smaller pour option for all of the drafts. The bottle list is decent as well. There have been times when I end up waiting a little longer than I would like for a beer, but for the most part, the bartenders are very quick, and always very friendly. |
