4 reviews for 12 South Tap Room and Grill
MmmcKay (4), Brentwood, Tennessee does not count - explanation | | October 27, 2009 Not a bad spot. No smoking inside, so good for ratings. There is a porch out front that you can smoke on. Some pretty damn good stuff on tap. Yazoo hop project, Terrapin depth charge were there on my visit. Bartenders were pretty cool once they realized I wanted to talk beer. | davidajensen (4), Nashville, Tennessee does not count - explanation | | January 31, 2009 They have a decent selection of beer both on draft and in bottles. The employees tend to be fairly knowledgeable about beer. The food is OK, the live music is usually pretty good. This place isn’t very big, so it fills up fast and they close fairly early. Plan accordingly. | | Butters (150), Virginia | | November 17, 2008 Went here to grab a pint of the Yazoo 5th anniversary Fresh Hop on draft. It was small, very crowded, and noisy as hell. About an hour after arriving, a shitty country band started playing (but this is nashville afterall ...), which cleared the place out a bit, but the service was still REALLY slow. But this was understandable because they only had 2 bartenders/waiters in the whole place! So cudos to them for doing a good job under the circumstances. The main draw for this place would be their (relatively) inexpensive, but delicious food. I had a terrific southwestern cobb salad and my wife had the salmon which was also great. I probably would come back, but only during the off-peak hours when there is no band. | | illinismitty (224), Nashville, Tennessee | | October 26, 2008 [ Updated November 18, 2008 ] I finally found a good opportunity to check out this place. My best friend was playing two sets here on a Tuesday night. Located in a small redevelopment area near Belmont University, amongst trendy places like Mirror and Mafiozas. While they may not have the selection of Flying Saucer, what they do have is a good local Nashville vibe. Crowd is a mix of neighboorhood folks, musicians, and students. They feature a good mix of live music throughout the week, most of which is no cover (just put money in the tip jar). There are about 20 taps, including locals from Yazoo and Blackstone. Bottle selection is mosly fairly common domestic micro session beers, but there are a few European beers as well( could use more Belgians). Nothing rare, but any beer geek should be able to find something enjoyable. I have not tried the food yet, but the fusion menu looks good. Non-smoking, and bands start at 9pm nightly.
