| lithy (97), Knoxville, Tennessee | | November 17, 2009 7 beers available when I visited with 1 high gravity offering. Unfortunately their sampler was done in the thin thimble glasses, not very good way to get an idea about their beer. Kind of small place otherwise but nice separation of bar area and dining area. | | mcrowther (10), ATLANTA, Georgia | | November 15, 2009 Crawford and gang have done most things correctly- they now have a cask ale on at all times, the beer is mostly great, and the food is above average if a bit overpriced, I like to go for happy hour and get the 2 for one appetizers. One of my regular haunts. | | maltdog (51), Knoxville, Tennessee | | October 19, 2009 I was really excited to visit the new location for dinner and have never been more disappointed. In fact the entire meal completely sucked. More of a trendy martini bar/loft vibe than anything else. They were "out" of three of the beers and two of the menu items we chose. Ordered a beer sampler (that came in ridiculous tiny vodka "bullets", c,mon!) and all the beers were flat and bland (a couple even tasted oxidized?) except for the 549 and Dark White which both had some flavor. Literally some of the smallest-portioned and most overpriced food I’ve seen anywhere. Despite sounding delicious on the menu, we were not satisfied with an appetizer and two entrees, all poorly cooked and somewhat flavorless. Oh, entrees apparently don’t come with any sides (such as a veg or a starch), it’s just one thing on a plain white plate. I had to break out my emergency granola bar stash when we got back to the car. Don’t eat here, you’ll regret it!!!! | | NachlamSie (209), Tennessee | | September 29, 2009 This place stays true to the 5 Seasons formula: sophisticated ambiance with delicious food and beer without being overly pretentious. The service at the bar was great. We ate some kind of rabbit-tortilla dish, a crab-cheese appetizer, and a bowl of beer cheese soup. Everything was very, very tasty. The beer was interesting with a lot of wheat and fruit beers on even though autumn had officially begun a few days earlier. I will most likely visit here again especially given its proximity to Hop City. | tubehead (5), Atlanta, Georgia does not count - explanation | | August 25, 2009 This is a great new entry from the 5 Seasons time. Head brewer Crawford Moran is the genius behind Dogwood Brewing and has created some fantastic beers, including his Belgian triple, Espresso Stout, and IPA. The food is mostly organic and while somewhat expensive it is outrageously delicious. I enjoyed a salmon-topped pizza and a medalion of swordfish. I’m a regular now - can’t wait for the weekly cask tapping on Thursday! | nerdrocker101 (1), Atlanta, Georgia does not count - explanation | | July 17, 2009 The food was awesome. The prices are a bit on the expensive side. I ordered one of the "feasts". The duck was amazing and I had plenty to eat, but I was still able to nibble on my fiance’s kobe beef. The beers were great. I had my first cask ale and a few of the other ones as well. Overall I was very pleased, but I might stick to the middle plates, because some of them seemed as filling as the feast I had. | | Hank1980 (37), Athens, Georgia | | July 12, 2009 New location. Stopped in briefly for some brews and lunch. Food is great, and the beer is solid. The inside of the restaurant is really nice, and the patio is pretty solid. The location is excellent, near Tech and next to Hop City. They will do very well. Hopefully their beer continues to be solid with some splitting time between locations. | | Cybercat (42), Georgia | | June 22, 2009 Now that 5 Seasons Westside is brewing their own beers, I can give them a fair rating. I tried three of their current brewskis and found all of them to be excellent. Their food is superb, and they have a great selection, from tasty appetizers to huge "feasts" if you are really hungry - or want to share. Waitstaff is friendly, helpful and well-trained. Prices are reasonable. This is a great addition to the 5 Seasons family, and I hope it becomes an institution like its "big sister" in Sandy Springs. |
